Nghe An invests 17 billion VND to build embankment to prevent landslides on Lam River bank, section passing Chom Lom bridge
(Baonghean.vn) - Con Cuong District (Nghe An) is implementing the construction of an embankment to prevent landslides on the Lam River bank from Khe Thoi to the upstream of Chom Lom Bridge with a length of 515 m, with a total investment of nearly 17 billion VND from the provincial budget.

Landslide situation along Lam River bank from Khe Thoi to upstreamChom Lom BridgeLang Khe commune has been experiencing frequent and complicated landslides for many years now, affecting people’s lives and property. Therefore, the construction of stone embankments to prevent landslides on this river section is extremely necessary.
According to the design, the embankment crest elevation is +44.0m, the embankment crest is poured with reinforced concrete beams, size 25x45 cm. The embankment body is paved with 30 cm thick rubble stone, underneath is a 10 cm thick layer of crushed stone. The embankment foot structure is made of tumbled stone to create a sloping roof, the outside is covered with a layer of galvanized stone dragon carpet, each dragon has a diameter of 60 cm, 10 m long.
The elevation of the embankment base is from +38.50m, the structure is made of dry aggregate stone, 1.75m wide and 60cm thick. On the embankment line, there are 5 washing wharves, the structure is made of concrete.Currently the construction unit is speeding up progress.
