Nghe An invests more than 22 billion VND in pouring concrete on Ta Lam embankment
(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the plan to maintain, repair and upgrade the important river dyke system, from November 2022, Nghe An Irrigation and Dyke Sub-Department has received over 22 billion VND from the Central Government to harden the northern dyke surface of Lam River with concrete, from Thanh Chuong district to Ben Thuy II bridge (Vinh city).

After more than 2 months of hard work,Nghe An Irrigation and Dyke Sub-Departmentcompleted the dike section from Nam Dan town to Hung Loi commune (Hung Nguyen), accordingly 42,071 km of surfaceleft bank of Lam RiverLevel II and Level III have been hardened by pouring concrete dike surface to ensure technical design standards, thickness over 20 cm, ensuring load bearing capacity for heavy-duty vehicles to circulate and rescue.

Previously, of the 14,069 km of level IV dike of Lam River through Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan and Do Luong, Nghe An, 7,833 km of the dike surface was hardened, the rest was not hardened, of which 1,745 km of the dike surface was in the form of graded soil and 1.8 km of the dike was a reinforced concrete retaining wall.
Mr. Nguyen Truong Thanh - Head of the Department of Irrigation and Dykes said: the hardening of the dike surface with concrete is part of the annual dike maintenance and upgrading plan. Toensure safety for the dike bodyand limit the risk of erosion, many localities have basically hardened the dike surface and in Nghe An, it has just been implemented since 2022. According to the plan, the entire dike surface on the left bank of Lam River will be hardened. It is expected that in 2023, about 22 billion VND will be spent to continue hardening and embanking the remaining dike sections./.
