Nghe An proposed the Central Government to recognize Dien Chau district as meeting new rural standards.

On the afternoon of March 23, under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting of the Steering Committee for the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the period 2021-2025 in Nghe An province.

The meeting aimed to discuss and vote on the proposal to consider and recognize Dien Chau district as meeting new rural standards in 2022.

After 12 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, by the end of 2022, Dien Chau district had 36/36 communes recognized by the Provincial People's Committee Chairman as meeting new rural standards; 5 communes were recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards, Dien Chau town met civilized urban standards. Regional connecting infrastructures have been invested in and basically met standards, meeting production and people's livelihood activities and ensuring regulations on on-site disaster prevention and control.

Up to now, the district has completed 9/9 criteria of new rural district, the rural appearance of Dien Chau district has changed a lot, the economy has grown quite well, the economic structure has shifted positively; the fields of education and health have been invested; the landscape and rural environment have been improved. Nearly 99% of people are satisfied with the results of new rural construction in the locality; 100% of the basic construction investment projects of the program have been implemented in accordance with the Law on Public Investment, up to now, Dien Chau district has no outstanding basic construction debt in the implementation of new rural construction.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Nguyen Van De requested Dien Chau district to continue to coordinate with the Office of the New Rural Program Coordination to complete the report contents according to the comments of departments, branches and sectors; direct the communes to update and supplement the dossiers for missing procedures to submit to the Central Government for appraisal as soon as possible.

At the same time, he directed: "Dien Chau district must continue to strengthen the management and maintenance of the road system, upgrade and complete infrastructure; especially better implement environmental protection and urban beautification in the area, so that environmental protection results in new rural construction are more sustainable. At the same time, promote the application of scientific and technological advances, strengthen linkages in agricultural production, increase production value and efficiency", the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested.
