Nghe An proposes 4 recommendations in online meeting with the Government

(Baonghean.vn) - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong affirmed Nghe An's efforts in recent times and proposed 4 important contents at an online meeting with the Government.

Speaking at the online conference between the Government and localities on the afternoon of December 28, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his high agreement with the Report on the socio-economic situation in 2017 as well as other thematic reports.

The head of Nghe An provincial government announced some outstanding results such as completing 27/27 main targets on socio-economic development, of which 8 targets exceeded the plan.

The gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate in the province was 8.25%, the highest in recent years. Budget revenue was estimated at 12,031 billion VND, up 9.3% compared to 2016.

Besides the improvements in agriculture, rural areas, service industry, investment attraction, culture and society, some pressing issues among the people have been promptly resolved.

The province has proactively detected a number of deforestation cases, initiated legal proceedings and prosecuted them; promptly reviewed and rectified forest management in the province; and strictly managed mineral exploitation activities.

The province has also reviewed and abolished many fees, made public the fees contributed by the people, and assigned the commune-level authorities to hold dialogues with the people every 6 months. The religious situation is now basically stable, contributing to the stability of the whole region.

Also at the Conference, the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee made 4 recommendations:

Firstly, the province proposed that the Government issue a document detailing and guiding the implementation of the Law on Planning passed by the National Assembly; allow localities to continue to develop provincial planning at the same time as national planning; allow the use of multiple capital sources for planning, and at the same time decentralize the planning budget to localities.

Second, Nghe An proposed that the Government have a support program for the education and training sector to build more facilities and train teachers to effectively implement the new education program.

Third, by 2020, the province will celebrate the 130th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday. The province requests the Prime Minister to pay attention and direct central ministries and branches to help and create conditions for Nam Dan to soon become a model new rural district and to plan and embellish the Kim Lien Special Relic Site.

Fourth, the head of Nghe An government requested the Prime Minister to direct ministries and branches to implement the conclusions of Party and State leaders when working with the province recently.
