(Baonghean.vn) - This spring, the weather is favorable for farmers to go to the fields to prepare the land for spring peanut planting. According to the plan, Nghe An will plant 14,000 hectares of spring peanuts, ending on February 18.

From early morning, Mr. Tran Cuong's family, hamlet 8, Dien Thanh commune (Dien Chau) went to the field to sow peanuts. This year, his family planted 3 sao of peanuts and focused on sowing after Tet. Mr. Cuong said that this year's weather was sunny and warm, so people worked the land smoothly. Before that, the family plowed, harrowed, and weeded, now they just need to plow and make furrows, sow seeds, and cover with plastic to achieve high yields.

Mr. Le The Hieu - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dien Chau district said: This spring crop, the whole district planted 2,750 hectares of peanuts, mainly concentrated in the communes of Dien Thinh, Dien Trung, Dien An... Before Tet, the district directed the first peanut planting, lasting from January 15 to January 25 with 800 hectares on dry land. After Tet, people continued to go to the fields to sow spring peanuts. The district People's Committee directed localities to propagate and instruct people to cover 100% of the peanut area with plastic.

This spring crop, Nghi Loc district planted 2,900 hectares of winter peanuts. Concentrated mainly in Nghi Trung and Nghi Long communes... After Tet, people actively went to the fields to prepare the land for peanuts. Currently, Nghi Loc has planted about 80% of the area and is expected to complete in 1 more week.

According to the plan, Nghe An will plant 14,000 hectares of spring peanuts, striving to achieve a yield of 33,600 tons of peanuts. According to the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, up to this point, farmers have planted more than 10,000 hectares, and the crop schedule for spring peanuts ends on February 18. In order for spring peanuts to grow well, most farmers apply the method of covering the beds with plastic.
