(Baonghean.vn) - While visiting his wife's hometown in Dien Bien, Mr. Ngh.'s family (residing in Hoang Mai Town, Nghe An) stayed at his sister-in-law's house for 2 days. A week later, his sister-in-law tested positive for Covid-19.

On the morning of May 21, Mr. Ho Sy Duong - Director of Hoang Mai Town Medical Center said that medical staff are thoroughly investigating the epidemic, looking for people who have been in contact with an F1 family in the area. This family is F1 of a Covid-19 patient in Dien Bien province, waiting for the Ministry of Health to announce.

"Currently, the entire family of five has been quarantined at a school. All of them have no symptoms, and the first test result was also negative for Covid-19. However, we should not be complacent because the patient in Dien Bien also has no symptoms and the first test result was also negative," said Mr. Duong.

According to epidemiological investigation, on May 12, Mr. Pham Trong Ngh. (46 years old, temporarily residing in Quang Trung block, Quynh Phuong ward), along with his family including his mother-in-law, wife and 2 children, went to his wife's hometown in Dien Bien to visit. In Dien Bien province, Mr. Ngh.'s family stayed at his sister-in-law Vi Thi H.'s house for 2 days.

On May 14, Mr. Ngh's family returned to Hoang Mai town but did not make a medical declaration. Meanwhile, that day, his sister-in-law Vi Thi H. became F1 due to close contact with a teacher infected with Covid-19. "Therefore, this family automatically became F2. If they declared, they would have to quarantine at home. It was not until May 20, when they heard that his sister-in-law had tested positive, that they agreed to declare," said Mr. Duong.

According to local authorities, Mr. Ngh.'s family has a registered residence in Vinh City and rented a seafood store in Quynh Phuong Ward. Since Hoang Mai Town began social distancing on May 7, the store has also stopped operating. However, since going to Dien Bien, Mr. Ngh. and his wife have gone to the market many times and come into contact with many people.

Hoang Mai town recorded the first positive case of Covid-19 in Nghe An, so it had to practice social distancing since May 7. After 2 weeks without detecting any new positive cases, on the morning of May 21, the town was allowed to stop social distancing, except for 5 villages in Quynh Lap commune.
