PV:Nghe An is a locality assessed to have a high risk of Covid-19 entering due to illegal entry. What directions and solutions has the province currently had to prevent this risk?

Comrade Bui Dinh Long:In the context of the Covid-19 epidemic outbreak all over the world and in the region, Nghe An is identified as having a very high risk. Especially the risk of the epidemic entering the border. At this time, the epidemic situationCovid-19In Laos, the situation is very complicated, the number of patients is increasing very quickly. Meanwhile, Nghe An has 419 km of border with Laos, with many trails and openings.

Disease preventionCovid-19Nghe An province has focused on directing and drastically implementing solutions. The province requires the Steering Committees at all levels, especially the Steering Committees for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of districts bordering Laos, to activate the epidemic prevention and control system at the highest level.

In particular, implementing two key solutions is to absolutely prevent illegal entry through trails and openings into Vietnam. The second solution is to continue to propagate and mobilize people to perform well the task of epidemic prevention; people mobilize their children, siblings, and relatives in Laos not to return home through unofficial routes. If they return home, they should go through the official route at the international border gate to be quarantined and have their health monitored, which is good for both themselves and the community.

To prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, Nghe An is also focusing on detecting and treating the disease. The province pays special attention to the quarantine and treatment system in border areas.

In the province, two centralized treatment points have been identified for patients returning from Laos: the Northwest Regional General Hospital (Route 48) and the Southwest Regional General Hospital (Route 7). At this time, the Southwest Regional General Hospital is treating three patients returning from Japan.

It can be affirmed that the entire Nghe An province is focusing on and making every effort to deploy solutions to prevent and detect the risks of the Covid-19 epidemic as soon as possible.

PV:In the upcoming holiday of April 30 - May 1, it is expected that a large number of tourists will return to Nghe An. What solutions have we put in place to raise public awareness and prevent the epidemic? And how will the Covid-19 vaccination continue to be implemented?

Comrade Bui Dinh Long:After the third wave of the epidemic subsided, we clearly saw that when people returned to normal life, they were somewhat negligent and subjective about the epidemic. Faced with this situation, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province requested relevant levels, sectors, localities and units to focus on propaganda and raising awareness among people in implementing the 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health and the National Steering Committee.

The province has also requested localities and tourist destinations to strictly implement epidemic prevention regulations, with close supervision by all levels, sectors and units. Those who do not comply with epidemic prevention and control requirements will not be allowed to enter tourist areas and destinations.

At this time, Nghe An is also vigorously implementing vaccination.Covid-19 vaccinePhase 1. In this phase, the province was provided with 18,500 doses by the Ministry of Health. Basically, the province has been implementing vaccinations according to plan and on the right subjects. In this phase, we are focusing on vaccinating key subjects such as medical staff, border guards, epidemic prevention steering committees, and anti-epidemic forces. It is expected that the vaccination task will be completed by the end of this week.

In addition to doing a good job of vaccination and disease prevention propaganda, Nghe An is focusing on the treatment system. The province's treatment facility system has also been activated at the highest level. The whole province currently has 8 treatment points, of which the Tropical Disease Center and Nghe An General Hospital have been invested in equipment to treat severe cases. The center has also connected with central levels, patients do not have to be transferred; determined to have no deaths.
