Nghe An strives to help over 150,000 people in difficult circumstances during 'Humanitarian Month 2021'
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 29, in Thai Hoa Town, the Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with Thai Hoa Town to organize the Launching Ceremony of "Humanitarian Month" and "Humanitarian Market 2021" with the theme "For a safe community".

Humanitarian Month 2021 with the theme "For a safe community" is implemented in May, culminating from May 8 (International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day) to May 19, 2021.
Humanitarian Month is a peak month to promote humanitarian values, arouse compassion among people of all walks of life and the responsibility of Party committees, authorities, and social forces in humanitarian work; build a united and compassionate community; continue to affirm and promote the core, bridging, and coordinating role of the Red Cross Society in humanitarian work and Red Cross activities; strengthen the leadership of the Party and the management of the State in humanitarian work.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Red Cross Society Nguyen Thi Thu Hien said: "During the Humanitarian Month of 2021, the whole province strives to assist at least 150,000 people in difficult circumstances, people affected by the epidemic; build 30 humanitarian works, in which priority is given to community health care works, livelihood support, and humanitarian house building; introduce and connect to support 400 humanitarian addresses through the national database system on humanitarian activities, ensuring the right people, the right needs, in the spirit of transparency and clarity.

The Provincial Red Cross Society has actively mobilized organizations, individuals, and philanthropists at home and abroad to support and carry out humanitarian activities. The total value of support for the Humanitarian Month to date is 12.4 billion VND.

At the ceremony, the Provincial Red Cross Society launched the peak implementation of "Humanitarian Month" in 2021.
Accordingly, the Association recommends that all levels promote the dissemination of humanitarian values, purposes and meanings of the Humanitarian Month and raise awareness among officials, members, all employees and volunteers about the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. Mobilize resources to provide practical assistance to addresses in difficult circumstances, affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and natural disasters.
