Nghe An organizes the 2023 Lotus Village Festival with many new and unique activities

On the morning of May 8, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications and the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association to organize a press conference for May 2023.

Attending the press conference were comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; together with leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department, the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Culture - Sports, the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association; leaders, reporters of local press agencies and resident representatives in Nghe An province.

Many new activities at the 2023 Lotus Village Festival

At the press conference, comrade Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports informed about the plan to organize the Sen Village Festival in 2023. The Sen Village Festival in 2023 is associated with the art program "Mother of Sen Village" to celebrate the 155th anniversary of the birth of Ms. Hoang Thi Loan and the 133rd anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh.

Up to now, the Sen Village Festival has had a tradition of 42 years of organization, developed and upgraded from the Sen Village Singing Festival. The Sen Village Festival is organized annually at the provincial level and every 5 years at the national level.

This is an important political and cultural activity, expressing the gratitude and respect of the People for President Ho Chi Minh - National Liberation Hero, World Cultural Celebrity; propagating and educating Ho Chi Minh's ideology; continuing to promote the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; introducing and promoting the culture of Sen Village, Nghe An homeland.

Promote propaganda of the province's political tasks

The May 2023 press conference also took time to evaluate the press work in April 2023 with many outstanding results.

During the month, press agencies strictly followed the direction and orientation of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and the state management of the Department of Information and Communications; at the same time, closely followed the province's political tasks to widely propagate.

Many press agencies have had quality articles, features, reports, and programs, and some press agencies have actively done good charity and social security work.

Representatives of a number of press agencies continued to raise at the conference a number of issues of concern related to the case of the People's Court of Hung Nguyen district sentencing Le Thi Dung, former Director of the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Hung Nguyen district, to 5 years in prison for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties"; the case of a female student of Vinh University's Specialized School committing suicide due to suspicions of school violence; the issue of handling press information raised by a number of agencies, units and localities that were not timely, and at the same time, did not create conditions in providing information to the press when requested...

Speaking at the conference, comrade Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department discussed a number of issues that the press and public have been interested in recently; at the same time, emphasized a number of contents that press agencies need to focus on promoting propaganda in May 2023.

Most noteworthy is the dissemination of the results of the implementation of programs, plans, and projects of the half-term of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term; the implementation of the socio-economic development program for ethnic minority and mountainous areas. The content of the Resolution on the Planning of Nghe An province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; the strong dissemination of activities to celebrate the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday; the good organization of the entrance exam for grade 10, high school graduation exam...

Along with that, promote information and propaganda activities to promote potentials and advantages; promote cultural heritages, scenic spots, culinary culture, and practical experiences to attract domestic and international tourists to visit tourist attractions in the province during the summer, creating momentum for tourism development.

Strengthening the dissemination and management of school security and safety, especially the prevention of school violence; warnings on accident and injury prevention, and drowning prevention for children, especially during the summer.
