Nghe An eliminates 2 gambling rings with many prominent members

On May 18, the Criminal Police Department (CSHS) of Nghe An Provincial Police announced that the unit had just successfully broken up a case.catch gambling gangwith sophisticated tricks.

Specifically, at around 0:30 a.m. on May 16, 2021, the Criminal Police Department mobilized forces, coordinated with Nghi Loc District Police to discover and arrest 18 subjects gambling by shaking dice at the house of Nguyen Chanh Thi, born in 1992, residing in Hamlet 11, Nghi Van Commune, Nghi Loc District.

Authorities seized nearly 100 million VND, 3 cars, 13 motorbikes, 30 mobile phones and many tools and vehicles used for gambling at the scene.

Through initial investigation and verification, out of 18 arrested subjects, 11 subjects hadcriminal recordfor crimes related to drugs, gambling, property theft...

Nguyen Chanh Thi, the homeowner, took advantage of the darkness to flee the scene. However, on the morning of May 18, Nguyen Chanh Thi turned himself in to the police. At the police station, Thi handed over the 1.5 million VND he had collected from the gamblers and confessed to all his actions.

Gamblers are mostly notorious criminals with many criminal records and complicated relationships. To avoid the authorities, this group of people often operates after midnight, contacting each other by phone, then agreeing to move in pairs to pre-announced locations, not gathering in groups to avoid suspicion and surveillance. And they choose to operate in solidly built houses in the style of "tiger cages", with surveillance cameras installed around them and changing them regularly.

Also in Nghi Loc district, at 11:00 a.m. on May 17, at the house of Le Thi Van Anh in Lac Hong hamlet, Nghi Dien commune, Nghi Loc district police suddenly raided and arrested 04 subjects all residing in Nghi Loc district, including: Nguyen Quoc Vuong (born in 1971), residing in Nghi Dien commune, Nghi Loc; Pham Thi Huong (born in 1993); Dang Thi Oanh (born in 1982), both residing in Nghi Dien commune and Bui Van Anh (born in 1990), residing in Nghi Van commune, for gambling in the form of "3-card" cards. The seized evidence was more than 71 million VND; 01 deck of playing cards; 04 mobile phones.
