Nghe An: Mobilizing to build and repair houses for at least 5,000 poor households

On the afternoon of September 30, the "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee and the Nghe An Provincial Relief Committee held a conference to approve the Plan for organizing activities during the "For the Poor" Peak Month and the "The Whole Country Joins Hands for the Poor" Program in 2019.

Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Head of the Committee chaired the conference. Attending the conference were Deputy Heads and members of the Committee for Mobilizing the Fund "For the Poor" and the Provincial Relief Committee.

The Peak Month "For the Poor" and the Program "The whole country joins hands for the poor" in 2019 were organized to focus on mobilizing the community, businesses, organizations, units, and individuals to support the "For the Poor" Fund and social security programs, contributing to the goal of poverty reduction.

In particular, focusing on promoting propaganda about the purpose and meaning of the Peak Month "For the Poor" (from October 17 to November 18, 2019) and the results of mobilizing and building the "For the Poor" Fund. Organizing art programs to raise funds, setting examples and rewarding outstanding businesses, organizations, individuals and localities in the past time.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of districts, cities and towns complete the mobilization targets and coordinate the implementation of the contents of caring for the poor. Strive to complete the mobilization to support the construction of 90 Great Solidarity houses by the end of 2019; call on and mobilize all classes of people to respond by texting to the hotline 1408 to help the poor have more conditions to change their lives.

Through the organization of the Great Unity Festival in residential areas to celebrate the 89th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's traditional day to propagate, mobilize support for the fund and organize activities to care for and help the poor. Mobilize resources to prepare, organize visits and give gifts for the Lunar New Year 2020, ensuring that all people in the province have a Tet holiday.

Mr. Dang Van Nham, hamlet 5, My Son commune (Do Luong) received 30 million VND from the Do Luong District Veterans Association to build a gratitude house.

On that basis, it is recommended that members of the Mobilization Committee of the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels strengthen mobilization work in many forms; coordinate with the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs to conduct a general review and develop a plan to support poor households in building and repairing houses, with priority given to poor households, poor households with members who have contributed to the revolution, policy families and poor households in especially difficult areas, border areas and mountainous areas.

The conference also approved a plan to launch a movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and support the construction of Great Unity houses for poor households in the period 2019 - 2025. Accordingly, the goal by 2025 is to support the construction and repair of at least 5,000 poor households in the whole province.

At the conference, members of the Mobilization Committee exchanged opinions on the following issues: responsibilities in reviewing and surveying poor households and temporary housing, avoiding localism; methods and experiences in mobilizing, propagating, and calling on organizations and individuals to help the poor; support criteria, avoiding duplication; identifying the right subjects, support levels, and paying attention to workers...

Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Head of the Mobilization Committee requested members to continue researching and adding opinions to complete the plan, promoting a sense of responsibility in the work of mobilizing the construction of the Fund "For the Poor".

In her concluding remarks, Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An Province, Head of the Mobilization Committee requested members to continue researching and adding ideas to complete the plan, promote the sense of responsibility in the work of mobilizing the establishment of the "For the Poor" Fund and eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. From there, build the trust of the people, especially the poor, in the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State.
