(Baonghean.vn) - Dozens of ships docked at Quynh Lap fishing port, Quynh Phuong, Hoang Mai town, full of all kinds of fish; many ships hit the jackpot with spotted fish, earning hundreds of millions of dong.
On the afternoon of March 31, the large-capacity ship NA 98868 TS of captain Nguyen Quoc Trung in Hop Tien hamlet, Quynh Lap commune (Hoang Mai town) docked at Quynh Lap fishing port.
Mr. Trung excitedly said that after Tet, his ship has gone out to sea 7 times, this time in the Gulf of Tonkin, he caught more than 30 tons of spotted fish and 3 tons of various types of fish and squid. With the selling price at the wharf of spotted fish of 7,000 VND/kg, he earned over 200 million VND.

Urgently transporting fish to the port for consumption, the owner of the NA 93697 TS ship - Mr. Le Ba Tich said that his ship set sail on March 25, after 6 days of fishing, he caught more than 20 tons of spotted fish and nearly 10 tons of anchovies.

In addition to purchasing for retail or import to distributors in many provinces, many establishments in the area also purchase for preliminary processing, steaming, and preservation to increase export value.
Mr. Nguyen Van Chung - owner of a fish steaming workshop in Quynh Lap said that every day the facility steams over 10 tons of anchovies and spotted fish, with an export price of 20,000 - 30,000 VND/kg; the facility has created jobs for dozens of workers.

Hoang Mai town’s fishing fleet has nearly 1,000 boats, the town has 126 offshore fishing teams, and 17 fish steaming and processing facilities. Successful fishing trips create conditions for fishermen to go far away from the sea and develop the economy.
