(Baonghean.vn) - At noon on August 30, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued an urgent dispatch requesting agencies and units in the province to proactively respond and minimize damage to downstream areas of hydropower plants.
In order to promptly relocate furniture and ensure safety for students, on the afternoon of August 30, Con Cuong district mobilized dozens of police and military officers and soldiers to help Con Cuong Ethnic Minority Secondary School relocate furniture, books and learning tools away from flooded areas.

After nearly 2 hours, all school and student belongings were moved to higher ground. Students were given a day off and were picked up by their parents to go home in case the floodwaters rose.

Con Cuong district directed communes and towns to be on duty at key points and proactively respond to floods.
Since noon on August 30, the water level on the Ca River and Nam Non River passing through Tuong Duong District has risen, causing many roads in this mountainous district to continue to be cut off. Specifically, the Cua Rao - Luong Minh route, Khe Sai section, Xieng Huong Village, Luong Minh Commune, was flooded and cut off.
Vehicles were not able to pass. Some people used rudimentary carts to push people and vehicles through this gap.

On National Highway 7, the section passing through Lang Nhung, Tam Quang Commune, water has also begun to overflow onto the road. Garbage from the Ca River, pushed by the water, has flooded this section of the road. Vehicles passing through here are facing many difficulties. According to the reporter's observations, some houses in Khe Bo Village, Tam Quang Commune, have flooded basements, outbuildings and gardens. Many residents in this village continue to have to move their belongings to a safe place.

At Khe Bo Hydropower Reservoir, the water level rose this morning. Mr. Do Van Manh - Deputy Director in charge of Khe Bo Hydropower Plant said that the plant is currently discharging at a rate of 3,150 cubic meters of water per second. Currently, the water level at Khe Bo Hydropower Reservoir has reached a level of 65 meters. "It is expected that this afternoon, we will have to discharge up to 3,500 cubic meters of water per second. Currently, the water situation is also very complicated due to bad weather, and the Ban Ve Hydropower Reservoir has also overflowed," said Mr. Manh.
"The water level on Highway 7 through Lang Nhung, Tam Quang commune is only about 2km from Khe Bo Hydropower Plant. If this hydropower plant releases flood water with a larger flow, this road will be cut off again," said a local resident.
