(Baonghean.vn) - In difficult days due to the severe impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Vinh City residents are not alone, always receiving sharing and support from the countryside. In times of difficulty and adversity, human affection becomes deeper, a support and belief towards a peaceful life.

Touched by sincere feelings

On the morning of July 3, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong in Nam Son commune (Do Luong) woke up very early, stepped out of the house, and headed to the water spinach field behind. The moon was still bright, Ms. Phuong waded into the field to quickly pick fresh young water spinach shoots, about 10 bunches. After washing, she put the vegetables in a cardboard box, tied it to her bicycle, and then hurriedly carried it to the collection point to send to support the people of Vinh city who are facing difficulties because ofCovid-19 epidemic.

“Through online newspapers, I know that the epidemic in Vinh is complicated, many places are locked down, so there is a shortage of food. Yesterday, the commune mobilized support for vegetables, so today I woke up early to pick some water spinach to send to the people there, hoping that the vegetables will arrive the same day, while they are still fresh and delicious,” Ms. Phuong shared.

Like Ms. Phuong, many families in Do Luong district woke up very early to go to the garden to pick vegetables, eggplants, squash, and pumpkins to send to the people of Vinh city. According to Ms. Vuong Thi Quy - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Do Luong district, after 3 days of campaigning, they received more than 40 tons of vegetables, tubers, and fruits in support.Vinh City.

The district mobilized nearly 10 trucks to transport the supplies to Vinh in time. When the trucks started, there were still people riding bicycles carrying vegetables, saying that they had brought them to the gathering point in the commune in the morning, and when they got home, they saw that there were still some left, so they rushed out to pick more, hoping that a few more households would receive them in this difficult time. "Witnessing that scene, I was moved to tears by the sincerity, simplicity, and humanity of the villagers," said Ms. Vuong Thi Quy.

In the morning, more than 40 tons of vegetables were transported to the Vinh City Fatherland Front Committee, from where they will be distributed to the wards and blocks that are being isolated and locked down. Upon hearing the news, some residents of Le Mao Ward came to receive supplies. Ms. Nguyen Thi Van said: “My husband and I are both freelance workers. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, we have had no work, so we have no income, and we have run out of food. When I heard that there were supplies, I came out to receive some. I am truly grateful for the concern and sharing of the people in the districts.”

“The people in my hometown are really thoughtful and dedicated, sending vegetables and spices. Since the lockdown, my family has occasionally received supplies from the districts and philanthropists, which has been a source of encouragement to help us confidently fight the Covid-19 pandemic and overcome these difficult days.”

Along with Do Luong, peopleAnh Son districtalso donated many vegetables, tubers, and fruits to send to Vinh city to supply. The district Fatherland Front Committee mobilized many trucks to travel hundreds of kilometers to transport goods to support the "Red City" in the fight against the pandemic. Priority was given to people in Ha Huy Tap, Cua Nam, Hung Binh wards and students of 2 ethnic minority high schools who were "stuck" and could not return to their hometowns.
