People in landslide-threatened areas in Nghe An move to new resettlement area
On December 14, 70 households in Vang Phao village, Muong Tip commune, Ky Son district began dismantling their houses to move to a new resettlement area, more than 4km from their old residence.
The leader of Muong Tip Commune People's Committee said that Vang Phao resettlement area was built more than 4km away from the residential area of Vang Phao villagers.

In 2018, in Muong Tip commune, a mountain crack appeared, threatening landslides and mountainside collapse, potentially affecting the lives and property of households in Vang Phao village.
Faced with this situation, in 2019, the Vang Phao Resettlement Area was started to be built. In early August 2024, after completing the infrastructure construction of the resettlement area, the authorities at all levels of Ky Son initiated steps to prepare for the relocation of the entire Vang Phao village to a new place of residence. By December 2024, Ky Son district had started to support people to relocate their houses to the Vang Phao Resettlement Area.

The infrastructure of Vang Phao resettlement area has been completed, including a 5.4km concrete road connecting to the resettlement area; 650m of internal concrete road. The land for households, each lot has an area of over 200m22.

In addition, the new residence of the Vang Phao villagers also has a water pipeline system leading from the stream to the Vang Phao resettlement area, more than 3.5km long, supplying water to 5 tanks and 1 independent tap. Along with that are two rows of 4 classrooms for preschool and primary school.
