The person honored to meet Uncle Ho 5 times
(Baonghean) That is Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoe in Nam Cuong block, Quang Phong ward, Thai Hoa town - a war invalid, veteran revolutionary cadre, awarded by the Party and State with the 60-year Party membership badge and many noble medals and orders.
He said: The first time I met Uncle Ho was in April 1952, at that time I was honored to be elected as an emulation soldier of the 308th Pioneer Army Corps along with 8 comrades representing other units across the country to meet Uncle Ho at the revolutionary base of Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province. Before Uncle Ho's arrival, we waited anxiously. And then, Uncle Ho appeared in simple clothes and familiar sandals. As soon as he arrived, Uncle Ho raised his hand to greet everyone. The shout of "Long live Ho Chi Minh" resounded. Without waiting long, Uncle Ho invited everyone to sit down and immediately went into the story. For the first time in my life, I saw Uncle Ho with my own eyes and was even luckier when he awarded me the Red Star Badge. I remember very clearly, from Uncle Ho's hand a warmth radiated, very close and loving. Since then, Uncle Ho's image has always been a source of pride in my memory.
The second time I met Uncle Ho was in August 1954. That time, during the Dien Bien Phu campaign, I and many other comrades were wounded and transferred to Phu Tho for treatment. Uncle Ho visited and praised our outstanding achievements in combat. He awarded the Dien Bien Phu Victory Medal and shook hands with each soldier.
The third time, I was the Chairman of Nam Cuong commune, district.
After holding many positions, Mr. Hoe retired in 1978. In 1979, responding to the call of the Party and the State, he mobilized people in Nam Cuong commune, Nam Dan district and volunteered to bring his whole family to build a new economic zone in Phu Quy area, establishing a hamlet named after his hometown Nam Cuong in Nghia Dan - now Nam Cuong block, Quang Phong ward, Thai Hoa town. Although he is 82 years old, Mr. Hoe always enthusiastically participates in Party building work at the grassroots level, regularly teaching his children and grandchildren to live well and be useful to society. In particular, the memory of the 5 times he met Uncle Ho and his teachings are always shared with his children and grandchildren and generations of Party members because they are moral lessons that are forever valuable.
