(Baonghean.vn) - Informing Ky Son voters, delegate Nguyen Huu Cau said that the National Assembly has passed a Resolution approving the Overall Project on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2021-2035 period, with a huge investment amount of about 335,421 billion VND.
On the morning of December 3, the delegation of the Provincial National Assembly, including Mr. Le Quang Huy - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment; Major General Nguyen Huu Cau - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of Nghe An Provincial Police, had a meeting with voters after the 8th session in Huoi Tu commune, Ky Son district.

Many copies do not have electricity.
On behalf of the National Assembly Delegation, delegate Le Quang Huy reported the results of the 8th session of the 14th National Assembly with many important and breakthrough mechanisms and policies being passed.
Delegate Le Quang Huy also announced that the previous recommendations of voters of Ky Son district to the National Assembly Delegation such as: environmental issues, road traffic infrastructure, security and order... have been forwarded to relevant agencies and sectors for consideration and handling.

At the meeting, voters were particularly interested in the local national power grid. Up to now, many villages in Huoi Tu commune still do not have electricity for lighting.
Some opinions reflect that currently, the Party and State's policies are focusing a lot of resources on poor households, while near-poor households have not received proper attention.
Voters proposed that all levels and sectors need to support seedlings and livestock, as well as support resources to build roads to production areas to easily transport products for consumption.

Regarding education, voters reported that at the local primary level, subjects such as English and Information Technology have not been included in the curriculum. In addition, the commune's schools are lacking clean water for daily use.
Voters also expressed concern about policies to support poor households in particularly difficult areas; there is no policy to support upland rice of ethnic minorities; there is no linkage to ensure output for key crops such as bo bo, ginger...
Creating momentum for ethnic minority areas
At the meeting, on behalf of the provincial National Assembly delegation, Major General Nguyen Huu Cau - Director of the Provincial Police Department directly explained some opinions of voters.
Delegate Nguyen Huu Cau said that recently at the 8th session, the National Assembly passed a Resolution approving the Overall Project on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2021-2035 period.
This is the first time the National Assembly has made a comprehensive mountainous development project a resolution, with a huge investment amount (335,421 billion VND).

The Resolution sets out the following goals: from now until 2025, the average income of people in mountainous areas will double compared to 2020; the poverty rate of ethnic minorities will decrease by 3% annually, aiming to decrease by 30% by 2030; 100% of communes will have concrete roads, 70% of villages will have concrete roads to the center, 100% of schools and medical stations will be solidly built, 99% of people will have access to the national grid and other suitable sources of electricity, 90% of the population will have access to clean water; 70% of communes will meet new rural standards, attracting 3% of workers to work in industrial and handicraft sectors, etc.
"This is a very big goal of the Party and the National Assembly, aiming to completely change the face of the ethnic mountainous areas, creating a breakthrough momentum" - delegate Nguyen Huu Cau, Director of Nghe An Provincial Police, emphasized.

Regarding the voters' suggestion to help illiterate ethnic minorities who need to take driving tests, delegate Nguyen Huu Cau said that this is a valid opinion and acknowledged and accepted it to be sent to the National Assembly for consideration and discussion when drafting and supplementing the Road Traffic Law in the next session.
Regarding support for upland rice, delegate Nguyen Huu Cau promised to forward his opinion to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development for consideration and resolution.
