Xieng My commune is a remote area, people's lives face many difficulties and deprivation. In recent years, local authorities have implemented many drastic measures to fight and reduce crimes and drug abuse. However, the crime situation, especially drug-related crimes, is still complicated, the number of drug addicts and suspected drug addicts in the area is still high. Implementing the policy of expanding the Project on Building "Drug-free border commune", aiming at the goal of "A clean border district from drugs", the two units have agreed on the contents of the twinning with the goal of soon turning Xieng My into a "Clean border commune from drugs".

Accordingly, the Internal Political Security Department will guide and support the Party Committee, government and people of Xieng My commune in ensuring security and order in the area; organize propaganda and dissemination of legal regulations related to protecting internal political security, network security, crime prevention, especially drug crimes. At the ceremony, the Internal Political Security Department presented Xieng My Commune People's Committee with a computer set and 100 books for law dissemination and propaganda. To support Xieng My Commune Police in the fight against drugs, the delegation presented 300 drug test kits and VND 5,000,000 in cash.

Within the framework of the program, the Internal Political Security Department's working group coordinated with Cua Dong General Hospital to organize medical examinations and provide free medicine to nearly 200 people of Xieng My commune.

In addition, with the desire to support the locality in poverty reduction, the unit launched and organized the program "Tet for the poor Spring Quy Mao 2023". Accordingly, it mobilized officers and soldiers to donate 1 day's salary, and at the same time called on and mobilized agencies, units and businesses in the area to participate in support. From the donated money, the delegation presented 30 gifts to families in especially difficult circumstances, 20 gifts to poor but studious students with a total value of 70 million VND./.
