Giving Tet gifts and providing free medical examination and medicine to people in Xieng My commune (Tuong Duong)

On the morning of January 12, Nghe An Newspaper and its partners organized a program to give Tet gifts to the poor on the occasion of the Year of the Snake; provide medical examinations, distribute medicines; and donate equipment to Xieng My Primary School (Tuong Duong).

Attending the program, on behalf of the working delegation were comrades: Ngo Duc Kien - Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper; Colonel Duong Dinh Van - Member of the Party Executive Committee of the Provincial Police, Head of Internal Political Security Department; Dinh Van Tao - Director of BNI Thanh Nghe Tinh region; Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - Director of BNI Nghe An; Ho Manh Truong - Director of BNI Ha Tinh; Le Thai Ha - Deputy Director of VNPT Nghe An Business Center; Doctor Phan Quang Trung - Secretary of the Youth Union of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.

On the local government side, there was comrade Lu Van May - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Tuong Duong district, along with a large number of cadres and people of Xieng My commune.

Responding to the Appeal Letter of the Provincial Party Secretary to support and help the poor and people in difficult circumstances to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025; promoting the fine tradition of "mutual love and support" of the nation, Nghe An Newspaper coordinated with the Internal Political Security Department - Provincial Police; BNI in Thanh Nghe Tinh region; Nghe An Petroleum Company; VNPT Nghe An and Youth Union of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to organize a program to give Tet gifts and provide free medical examination and medicine to the people of Xieng My commune (Tuong Duong).

Xieng My is a mountainous commune in the inner region of Tuong Duong district, 70 km from the district center, with 758 households, with 3,223 people, of which 168 are poor households (accounting for 22.16%), and 142 are near-poor households (accounting for 18.73%).

Implementing the policy of the Provincial People's Committee calling on each agency and unit to help a poor commune in the province, Nghe An Newspaper has accompanied and helped Xieng My commune of Tuong Duong district from 2011 to present.

At the program, the delegation presented 120 gifts to disadvantaged households in Xieng My commune (of which 80 gifts were sponsored by Nghe An Petroleum Company and 40 gifts were sponsored by VNPT Nghe An).

The delegation also presented 50 bunk beds, 1 freezer, 2 large rice cookers to Xieng My Primary School; and 1 printer to Xieng My Commune Police.

In addition, the Youth Union of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital also coordinated with Ecopharm Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Ngoc Khang Pharmacy to organize medical examinations and provide medicine to people in Xieng My commune with a total value of more than 35 million VND.

On this occasion, the Youth Union of Nghe An Newspaper presented a gift worth 3 million VND to Luong May Ty - a student of class 5B2 - Xieng My Primary School, a student with difficult circumstances who was supported by the Youth Union of Nghe An Newspaper.

The total amount of money donated by units and sponsors at the program is more than 255 million VND.

Speaking at the program, comrade Ngo Duc Kien - Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper acknowledged and thanked the units and sponsors who accompanied Nghe An Newspaper to organize the program "Tet for the Poor" Spring At Ty 2025 in Xieng My commune.

On behalf of the local government, comrade Luong Hong Son - Secretary of Xieng My Commune Party Committee sincerely thanked the agencies and units for their material and spiritual support and assistance to Xieng My Commune in recent years, especially the timely support to help poor households and disadvantaged households prepare for the Lunar New Year 2025.

Since the establishment of BNI Thanh Nghe Tinh (March 2014), there have been 598 members and 3,074 meetings have been organized for business owners to meet, connect, cooperate and as a result, 123,552 business opportunities have been created and 15,509 guests have been welcomed. The total value of sales that members have exchanged with each other from these business exchange activities is up to 4,335 billion VND.

After 10 years of establishment and development, BNI Thanh Nghe Tinh region has not only made a strong mark in business growth but also in practical contributions to the community. BNI Thanh Nghe Tinh region has organized many charity activities in 3 provinces of Nghe An, Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh. The total amount of charity contributions from the entire BNI Thanh Nghe Tinh community is more than 6 billion VND. Outstanding charity projects include supporting schools, supporting the poor, building 9 charity houses and building computer classrooms for schools in Que Phong district, warm Tet at the border in Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Que Phong districts...
