According to the investigation agency, on the night of February 11, 2019, a male doctor from the Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department - Nghe An General Hospital was completing procedures for a female patient at the department to go to a hospital in Hanoi for treatment.
During this process, the patient's family requested that a doctor accompany the patient to Hanoi, but the male doctor explained that according to hospital regulations, no doctor would accompany the patient because there was already a trained medical staff accompanying the patient in the transport vehicle.
Despite the explanation, the female patient's family did not agree and demanded that the on-duty staff send a doctor to accompany them. Afterwards, because their request was not met, some people cursed at the on-duty staff, causing disorder and affecting the treatment of the department. In particular, some people slapped the male doctor who was doing the procedure for the patient and threw a blood pressure monitor at him.
Receiving the case, the Vinh City Police Criminal Investigation Team verified and collected evidence and statements from witnesses and victims. On February 26, Nguyen Van Dung (born in 1969), Nguyen Van Thuy (born in 1963) and Nguyen Thanh Da (born in 1970) all went to Vinh City Police to surrender, admitting their crimes.
