The exciting activities of comrade Nguyen Danh Doan in Kim Lien
Nguyen Danh Doan was educated early and absorbed progressive ideas; following the patriotic path of his predecessors. He participated in local movements such as opposing tyranny and demanding rights for the people.
Throughout the thousands of years of history of fighting to build and defend the country, Kim Lien land has produced many outstanding children - loyal and indomitable communist soldiers who have brought glory to their homeland and country. Many comrades have grown up and held many important positions in the province and district, including comrade Nguyen Danh Doan.

Comrade Nguyen Danh Doan was born in 1897 in Chung Cu village, Kim Lien, Nam Dan. Growing up on the land and in a family with a tradition of patriotism and revolution, his father was a Confucian scholar who worked as a herbalist, so Nguyen Danh Doan was able to study early and absorb progressive ideas; following the patriotic path of his predecessors, participating in local movements such as opposing tyranny and demanding rights for the people.
In the years 1927-1928, in Chung Cu, the Revolutionary Youth Association and Tan Viet were established early and developed in many surrounding communes of Lam Thinh and Xuan Lieu communes. The grassroots organizations disseminated the document “The Revolutionary Path” by Nguyen Ai Quoc and Marxism-Leninism, mobilizing the masses to make revolution. Comrade Nguyen Danh Doan actively participated in local patriotic movements.
After the Communist Party of Vietnam was born, on April 25, 1930, in Kim Lien village, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thanh (Bay's great-grandson) - a worker at Truong Thi Factory, a representative of the Central Region Party Committee, was sent to preside over the establishment of the Nam Dan Party Committee and elected a provisional District Party Committee Executive Committee at Mr. Vuong Thuc Dam's house. From then on, a number of Party cells of Chung Cu commune (Kim Lien) were also born.
In local patriotic movements, comrade Nguyen Danh Doan always promoted his role and demonstrated himself to be a person with progressive thinking and organizational and leadership capacity, so he was admitted to the Party and assigned the task of being a propaganda officer, mobilizing the masses to make revolution.
In early May 1930, Kim Lien commune was established, with two Party cells: Son Ha Party Cell and Trung Binh Party Cell. Comrade Nguyen Danh Doan was honored to be elected as Secretary of Son Ha Party Cell, in charge of the villages: Ngoc Dinh, Tinh Ly, Hoang Tru, Van Hoi. Promoting his role, in the struggles and demonstrations, Comrade Nguyen Danh Doan was always the first to rise up, creating confidence for the masses to promote the revolutionary spirit.
Under the leadership of the Party, the revolutionary movement in Kim Lien had a great change, and demonstrations took place vigorously. A typical example was the demonstration on June 18, 1930, held at Nui Chung. In response to the district-wide movement, comrade Nguyen Danh Doan, along with party members in the cell such as comrades Nguyen Chuong, Nguyen Danh Binh, Vuong Thuc Co, etc., directed and mobilized the masses in the entire commune to participate.
To prepare for the demonstration, from the evening of June 17, 1930, comrade Nguyen Danh Doan and his comrades in the Executive Committee of the commune Party cell conveyed the spirit to party members and mobilized the masses to prepare their forces.
At dawn on June 18, 1930, the Red Guards gathered at Chung Mountain along with demonstration groups from Xuan Khoa and Xuan Lieu communes, waving high the red flag with hammer and sickle, marching out to Provincial Road 46, chanting slogans and listening to speeches from cadres. After that, the demonstration group marched to Cho Don to submit their demands. District Chief Le Khac Tuong had to promise to receive the people's demands and forward them to higher authorities.
The demonstration was successful, the Party's prestige was enhanced, the fighting spirit of the masses grew deeper and wider throughout the district, the red hammer and sickle flag appeared in many places such as on Chung mountain top, Tan mountain...; leaflets were passed around to be recited by heart, and folk songs and poems calling on the masses were widely disseminated.
Faced with the new and strong struggle, the French colonialists and their henchmen were confused and forced to deal with it with more flexible tactics such as not using guns to shoot and kill protesters, abolishing the tax on visitors, abolishing the guard duty, banning beating workers, and increasing workers' wages...
Promoting the victories achieved to bring the movement to a new step, on August 30, 1930, the people of the villages of Son Ha Party Cell under the leadership of comrade Nguyen Danh Doan, holding sticks, ropes, raising high the red flag, hammer and sickle, joined the crowd of Lam Thinh commune to march to the district office with the people of the whole district to demand their rights. District chief Le Khac Tuong was forced to stamp the hammer and sickle flag with the slogans of struggle and sign the petition of the masses, which included the sentence: "From now on, do not harass the people anymore.”.
Next, on September 28, 1930, two thousand Nam Dan farmers gathered at Ru Tan to march to the district capital to protest the massacre in Hung Nguyen and Nam Dan. Comrade Nguyen Danh Doan led the people of his villages to gather at Nui Chung and then marched to Ru Tan to listen to comrade Dang Chanh Ky holding the flag and giving a speech; then, together with the villages in the commune, followed the group back to the district to protest.
As the Party Cell Secretary, Comrade Nguyen Danh Doan always actively promoted his core role, always present and leading in the demonstrations. In October 1930, the Executive Committee of Nam Dan District Party Committee was officially elected. The whole district had 4 communes, each commune had an Executive Committee of the inter-branch called the General Committee. Comrade Nguyen Danh Doan was elected as Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Lam Thinh commune inter-branch, in charge of 27 administrative units.
In early 1931, frightened by the uprising of the masses, the colonial feudal government tried to terrorize, increased the number of soldiers in blue uniforms, secret agents, and notoriously evil officials to suppress the Soviet movement in a sea of blood. They stationed a garrison right in the commune and set up a group of lieutenants, deputy lieutenants, and porters to guard day and night, creating a network of siege and relentless pursuit, causing many communist party members and patriotic masses to be shot, killed or imprisoned, while some other comrades retreated into secret activities.
In Kim Lien commune alone, 75 soldiers were imprisoned in prisons, 10 comrades were martyrs, many families had fathers, sons, and siblings who participated in revolutionary activities and were arrested, tortured, and imprisoned by the enemy, many houses were burned down (including Mr. Nguyen Danh Uoc - the younger brother of comrade Nguyen Danh Doan, who was also shot dead). Comrade Nguyen Danh Doan was imprisoned by the enemy at Xuan La outpost in June 1931.
In the imperialist prison, despite being brutally tortured by the enemy with many extremes, he still upheld the spirit of a communist soldier, turning the prison into a school to improve his theory and awareness of the Party. He still learned about the changes of the times, keeping an undying faith in the revolution led by the Party.
In 1932, he returned from prison and continued to participate in the local revolutionary movement, such as participating in friendly guilds, organizing reading of books and newspapers, and mobilizing people to fight against corruption and oppression of the people by the local landlords...
In 1943, comrade Nguyen Danh Doan was appointed village chief to have conditions to operate and protect the Party base.
When the August Revolution broke out, comrade Nguyen Danh Doan became a Viet Minh cadre and actively participated in the movement to seize power in his home district.
After the successful August Revolution, comrade Nguyen Danh Doan continued to work in local movements such as: Red Farmers' Association, Commune Executive Committee, Cooperatives...
In 1986, due to old age and poor health, he passed away at the age of 89. With his great contributions to the cause of national liberation, he was awarded the Third Class Resistance Medal by the Party and State; the Third Class Independence Medal and many other noble awards./.
