Ms. Phan Thi Phuong - the nurse at Nghia My Kindergarten, is a member of the Youth Union in extremely difficult circumstances. Her husband had a work accident and has been bedridden for more than 7 years now. She alone shouldered all the household chores, ran around to cover all expenses, from medicine for her husband to education for her children... She did not have a house yet, her children were still young, the pandemic hit, she had no job, no income, life became even more miserable.

Ms. Phuong is one of 5 union members who received support from the Thai Hoa Town Labor Federation on September 14. Receiving the gift from the Town Labor Federation, Ms. Phuong could not hide her emotions, she was moved because the union came to her at the most difficult time.

After each time giving gifts to workers in difficult circumstances or visiting workers, Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Thuy - President of the Town Labor Federation always carries with her many concerns. These concerns grow when she receives messages from union members and workers. She confided: “The closer I get to union members and workers, the more pitiful situations I see and the more I want to do more for them. During the epidemic, workers' incomes have decreased, the risk of unemployment is high, some are oppressed and made difficult by businesses... This is the time when workers need unions the most!”

From the perspective of the leader, the UnionThai Hoa townhas implemented many in-depth activities, getting closer to union members and workers such as grasping the living situation and giving support gifts to workers implementing "3 on-site" at enterprises; giving support gifts to workers in locked-down areas; sharing and giving gifts to doctors and nurses on duty to fight the epidemic...

With the desire to support as much as possible and to provide the most effective care and support,Town Labor Federationregularly seek the attention of local Party committees, authorities, and businesses in the area, as well as the participation and support of trade unions. From this policy, a series of meaningful activities have been deployed and spread promptly from the beginning of the epidemic season.

During Workers' Month 2021, the Town Union and its grassroots unions organized many meaningful activities such as: Signing a union member welfare program with Thai Hoa Lab; Coordinating with Thai Hoa Lab to screen for liver cancer, hepatitis B for free and discount health check-up services for workers, civil servants and union members; Organizing the "Summer Cooling" program with 200 cups of tea donated by the Town People's Committee Union to 8 businesses in the area; The Town Social Insurance Union and the Town Enforcement Agency Union donated 1,500 masks and 50 bars of antibacterial soap to 8 non-state enterprise union units...

The Town Labor Federation also coordinated with 3 local enterprises to spray disinfectants at polling stations for the election of National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2021-2026 term in the area, presenting 2,750 medical masks, 300 anti-droplet glasses, 5 disinfectant sprayers to serve the election work; Mobilizing union members in the education sector to personally make more than 3,500 anti-droplet glasses to give to frontline units against the epidemic; Coordinated with leaders and executive boards of 4 enterprise-level trade unions to visit, encourage, share and give gifts to support officers, soldiers and union members on duty at Nghia Thuan checkpoint; called on union members and benefactors to join hands to support the "Support to School" Program...

These are extremely cute messages from teachers of Long Son Kindergarten and Dong Hieu Kindergarten in clips posted on social networks. Along with the cheerful messages are meaningful illustrations and cheerful songs. These clips come from the program to launch creative slogans to promote epidemic prevention and control that the Thai Hoa Town Labor Federation is implementing. The program has attracted the participation of many trade unions, especially the education sector trade unions in the area. Previously, the Thai Hoa Town Labor Federation also launched a contest to create propaganda clips to implement "5K", focusing on wearing masks and also received equally active participation. Under each participating post are many compliments and many interactions.

The propaganda clips are not only suitable for real conditions but also attract people to participate and interact. In many schools, students also draw pictures to join teachers, very fun and meaningful.

Another highlight in the propaganda work of the Thai Hoa Town Labor Federation in preventing and fighting the epidemic is the photo contest "The beauty of the green shirt of the trade union" held on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union. The contest received 163 photos from all trade unions with diverse and rich content such as caring for workers, preventing and fighting the epidemic, showing gratitude to war invalids and martyrs, rescuing agricultural products... The contest has spread the beautiful image of trade union officials in many aspects of life.

Sharing about the innovations in online propaganda, Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Thuy said: “During the epidemic, all offline activities were almost frozen, we realized the clear effectiveness of online propaganda. It can be said that in just a short time, the Facebook account of the Thai Hoa Town Labor Federation has had a much greater interaction than before. I believe that online activities and propaganda are an inevitable trend that any unit and individual needs to promote.”
