Typical violations in Covid-19 prevention will be prosecuted

The Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy has just issued Directive No. 03/CT-VKSTC on strengthening the exercise of the right to prosecute and supervise judicial activities in handling crimes related to the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.
The directive of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy emphasized that, in the immediate future, the Procuracy will coordinate with the same-level prosecution agency to select a number of typical cases to prosecute, investigate, prosecute, and try in order to meet the requirements of deterrence and general education, contributing effectively to the work of disease prevention and control.

According to Directive No. 03/CT-VKSTC, the Covid-19 epidemic is evolving very complicatedly and unpredictably. Our Party and State have proposed many policies and issued many documents directing the effective implementation of measures to prevent, combat and control the spread of infection in the community.
Recently, there have been a number of illegal acts related to the Covid-19 epidemic that show signs of crime, negatively affecting security and order, causing confusion, anxiety and discontent in society.
To contribute to preventing the increasing complexity of the epidemic, at the same time promptly detecting and strictly handling crimes related to the epidemic, ensuring consistency in handling crimes in all stages of the proceedings, the acts that are focused on handling include: Failure to strictly comply with regulations on disease prevention and control, causing the spread of the epidemic to the community; Violating regulations in crowded places, causing damage due to the arising costs of Covid-19 disease prevention and control from VND 100,000,000 or more.
Next is to provide fabricated, untrue information about the epidemic, causing panic and anxiety in society or with the aim of opposing the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.Taking advantage of the epidemic situation to commit illegal acts for personal gain and resist law enforcement officers, causing public disorder.
The Directive also requires strengthening strict supervision of the detention and custody of suspects, defendants, and prisoners at detention facilities nationwide, ensuring that detention and custody comply with regulations on quarantine for infected or suspected infected people; minimizing visits to detainees and prisoners... to prevent and control the epidemic. Strictly comply with regulations on disease prevention and control during the process of conducting professional activities; minimize direct supervision methods; increase the application of information technology, use existing electronic equipment during the process of conducting procedural activities./.
