(Baonghean.vn) - From the success of positioning the Quang Tien pink grapefruit brand in the market, many localities in Thai Hoa have been gradually expanding many models of growing fruit trees on hilly gardens. A typical example of this movement is Nghia Hoa commune.
This season on the farm of more than 5,000 m2Mr. Dinh Trong Dao's farm (Dong Hoa hamlet, Nghia Hoa commune) is bustling with the harvest of the Taiwanese Le guava variety. Although it was only planted in 2015, his 500 guava trees have yielded more than 1.5 tons this season. |
The land is suitable, and the garden owner takes care of the guava tree according to the correct technical process, so the guava tree grows well. Currently, there is still 1 ton of guava in the garden waiting to be harvested in the coming days, so this guava crop, Mr. Dao's family harvested more than 2.5 tons of guava. |
To help the plants grow, he also invested nearly 20 million VND in a pep irrigation system. Thanks to that, the guavas survived the last drought season. Although the yield was reduced, with the garden purchase price of 20,000 VND/kg, the revenue this season has reached more than 40 million VND. |
Not only guava, Mr. Dao also grows more than 200 apple trees. |
The apple trees grew healthily, and during the last Lunar New Year season, they yielded nearly 2 tons of fruit. With prices ranging from 28,000 to 30,000 VND/kg, they brought in nearly 60 million VND in revenue. |
The apple trees are now in bloom, and it is estimated that the second season will yield double the yield. The total investment cost is only 30-35% of the revenue, so the payback period is shortened. Mr. Dao considers this a fairly stable economic development direction to stabilize his life. |
Not only Mr. Dao, in Nghia Hoa there are many households growing fruit trees. In the photo is an area of more than 1 hectare of tangerine trees of Mr. Vo Van Hai (village 3) planted since 2012.Although the last crop only produced fruit, 200 tangerine trees have yielded more than 2.7 tons of fruit. What makes the fruit trees in Nghia Hoa region special is that people have boldly applied many scientific and technical advances in cultivation and "said no" to chemicals, especially herbicides. |
From the success of previous models, more and more households have also started their own fruit tree growing model. In the photo is the orange growing area of Mr. Vo Van Thi (village 2) with an area of 1.3 hectares. These areas were previously mainly used by people to grow sugarcane or acacia trees, however, the low revenue is estimated to be only half, or even 1/3 compared to fruit trees. |
According to the commune's statistics, Nghia Hoa currently has nearly 14 hectares of fruit trees with fruits such as oranges, tangerines, guavas, apples... From the poorest commune in the town, Nghia Hoa is now changing every day to become a dynamic economic region, providing clean and quality agricultural products for Thai Hoa town. |
