(Baonghean.vn) - Through rapid testing, a 20-year-old female student in Vinh City tested negative for Covid-19.

On the evening of July 30, the Nghe An Province Center for Disease Control announced that through rapid testing, a 20-year-old female student (residing in Truong Thi Ward, Vinh City) tested negative for Covid-19. This result was based on an antibody test.

Antibody tests, also known as serology tests, usually take only about an hour. Serology tests may not detect a recent infection, as it can take 1 to 3 weeks after symptoms appear for antibodies to be detected.

Therefore, Nghe An CDC is still conducting the second test. The results are expected to be available on the morning of July 31.

The female student is in the F3 category, having had close contact with a nCoV patient in Da Nang. On July 27, she returned to Vinh City from Da Nang. Two days later, she began to have symptoms of fever and dry cough. This morning, she had a high fever. Upon receiving the information, the health authorities immediately took the patient to the Vinh City Medical Center for isolation and treatment. Currently, Nghe An CDC is taking samples for testing of this patient.

Nghe An currently has more than 7,000 people returning from Da Nang and Quang Ngai in the past half month. These people are advised to quarantine at home for 14 days and proactively declare their health status.
