(Baonghean.vn) - Every day, from early morning, people in Son Thanh and Lam Thanh hamlets... Nam Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) are present at the mushroom farm, some pick mushrooms to sell, some make beds for mushrooms, some make straw... the atmosphere of the mushroom industry is very bustling.
Currently in Nam Thanh there are 3 types of mushrooms in harvest season: oyster mushrooms, button mushrooms and wood ear mushrooms. Mushroom growing is attracting many farmers in Nam Thanh to participate because this is a profession with high economic value.
Mr. Nguyen Tho Hanh - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Nam Thanh Commune happily said: "Nam Thanh Commune in particular, Yen Thanh District in general, has abundant raw materials (straw) so it is very good for mushroom growing. Families who work a little each year still earn hundreds of millions of dong from mushroom growing...".
It is known that Mr. Hanh's family in Son Thanh hamlet, Nam Thanh commune used to only farm, just enough to eat, not rich. Since 2011, his family has invested 1600 square meters of land to grow mushrooms, giving an annual income of over 600 million VND.
Currently, Nam Thanh has over 10 mushroom farms, creating jobs for over 50 workers. In the coming time, the mushroom growing area and mushroom growing households will be expanded even more.
