Former striker Van Sy Thuy is the younger brother of Van Sy Son and Van Sy Hung. He was born in 1974 and was promoted to the SLNA first team in 1992 by coach Nguyen Thanh Vinh. Pham Van Quyen (born 1984) is the only player called "prodigy" or "genius" by foreign coaches. After winning 4th place in the 2000 AFC U16 Championship as the best player, Van Quyen was called up by coach Calisto to the national team to participate in the Tiger Cup 2002 when he was only 18 years old. He scored 1 goal in the match against Laos. But before that, in October 2001, he first tested his skills at the top level in the second half of the National Super Cup match against Ho Chi Minh City when he was only 17 years old. Striker Le Cong Vinh (born 1985) was loaned to Than Quang Ninh by SLNA in 2002. In V.League 2003, he returned to the Nghe team at the age of 18. At the JVC Cup 2003, Le Cong Vinh shone and was retained by the Nghe team. At the same time, he was added to the list of players attending the 22nd SEA Games by coach A. Riedl. Midfielder Nguyen Trong Hoang (born in 1989) was the captain of the U17 SLNA team that won the championship in 2006. Center back Pham Manh Hung (born 1993) was the best player in the National U17 Finals in 2010.
