Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu joins in the Great Solidarity Festival with the people of Bay village, Nga My commune, Tuong Duong district
(Baonghean.vn) - Celebrating the 93rd anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's traditional day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2023), on the morning of November 17, Bay village, Nga My commune, Tuong Duong district organized the 2023 National Great Unity Festival and received the Certificate of recognition of the village meeting new rural standards.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Truong Thiet Hung - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.
On behalf of Tuong Duong district, there were comrades: Nguyen Van Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council; Lu Van May - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee; Dinh Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Tuong Duong District People's Committee. Also attending were leaders of departments and offices of Tuong Duong district and people of Bay village, Nga My commune.

Bay Village, Nga My Commune (Tuong Duong) has a natural land area of 484.20 hectares, of which agricultural land is 227 hectares; rice fields are 23 hectares. The village has 119 households with 517 people. The Party cell consists of 25 party members.


Over the years, the people in the village have always been united and actively carried out emulation movements and campaigns, especially the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", associated with the emulation movement "Nghe An joins hands to build new rural areas".
Economic development is of interest, typically the mango growing model of Mr. Vi Van Huy's family and the papaya growing model with 10 participating families; 1 fire prevention and fighting model. Up to now, the average income per capita of Bay village is 42.5 million VND, the village has 11 poor households accounting for 9.24%.

During the year, the village mobilized people to build solar street lights for public lighting with a total cost of 144 million VND; repaired 3 village roads with a total cost of nearly 35 million VND; and built facilities for the cultural house with a cost of 23 million VND.
People in the village actively contributed to funds for the poor, reaching and exceeding targets; building 3 houses for poor households, worth 50 million VND/house; repairing 3 houses, worth 20 million VND/house, construction costs from the national target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

The villagers have together preserved and promoted the precious cultural traditions of their nation. Everyone, every household actively practices a civilized lifestyle, well implements the conventions and village covenants in weddings, funerals, eliminates backward customs,... Up to now, the rate of cultural families has reached over 90%, Bay village has been recognized as a typical cultural village for 5 consecutive years.
Attention is paid to the study encouragement work, no students drop out of school; political security and social order and safety are maintained, creating a peaceful environment for people to feel secure in working, producing, improving their lives, and promoting good cultural values.


Recognizing the village's achievements in implementing the new rural construction movement, in 2023, the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district recognized Bay village as meeting new rural standards.
Speaking at the festival, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu emphasized that the spirit of national solidarity is a precious tradition of the Vietnamese people. The National Solidarity Festival has great significance for residential communities, becoming a beautiful tradition, honoring the great and sustainable values of national solidarity.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu was pleased to see the positive changes in the new appearance of Bay village, when the cadres and people of the village have overcome many difficulties in the context of long geographical distance, lack of facilities, inadequate infrastructure, harsh weather and climate... but in the past time, Bay village has achieved many outstanding and remarkable achievements, achieving the new rural standard in 2023.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that in the coming time, the Party Committee, local government, cadres and people of Bay village pay attention to continuing to carry out well the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", the patriotic emulation movement, building the homeland more and more prosperous, with the motto "strong hamlets and villages make strong communes; strong communes make strong districts; strong districts make strong provinces; strong provinces make the country develop strongly".

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu hopes that the people of Bay village, who have been united, will be even more united now. Although life has improved, the number of poor and near-poor households is still high, so we must unite to sustainably reduce poverty; create consensus in the village to help each other develop the economy; develop trade services; apply science and technology to life and production, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty; support each other with plant varieties, livestock, and experience to develop production; push back the mentality of waiting and relying, gradually improve life, reduce the rate of poor households, increase the rate of well-off households, ensure a full, prosperous, and happy life for the people.
Along with that is the preservation, promotion and maintenance of traditions, national identity, cultural lifestyle, good implementation of criteria for building cultural families, cultural villages; civilized lifestyle in weddings and funerals; actively fighting against counterfeit, fake and poor quality goods. At the same time, people join hands to maintain security and order in the village, in the commune, border security to always have a peaceful life.


In the joyful atmosphere of the Great Unity Day, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu presented Bay village with meaningful gifts to the collective and 10 bicycles to poor students who have overcome difficulties. Comrade Truong Thiet Hung - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee presented 10 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, to 10 families with especially difficult circumstances in the locality.

The District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Tuong Duong district presented 10 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to 10 families in difficult circumstances in Nga My commune; 9 gifts to prestigious people in the commune; representatives of political organizations of the commune and social organizations of Tuong Duong district also presented meaningful gifts to members in difficult circumstances in Nga My commune.
Nga My Commune also rewarded families that achieved the title of Outstanding Cultural Family for the period 2021-2023.

Nga My is an inner commune of Tuong Duong district, more than 60 km from the district center. The commune has a total natural land area of 18,415.02 hectares, of which: Pu Huong Nature Reserve area is: 11,305.2 hectares. The whole commune currently has 1,111 households with 5,009 people, of which 557 are poor households, accounting for 50.14%, down 1.3% over the same period, down 15 households in the year; near-poor households are 61 households, accounting for 5.49%, down 0.18% over the same period, down 2 households in the year; non-poor households are 493 households, accounting for 44.37%; people live in 9 villages.
