Parents and students in Nghe An struggle with online learning
(Baonghean.vn) - Since today, April 6, many schools in Nghe An province have started teaching online the main curriculum for students. However, due to the large number of visitors, many lessons have been interrupted, causing difficulties for students, parents and teachers, even in favorable areas such as Vinh city.
The connection is not stable yet.
Online teaching for teachers and students of Huynh Thuc Khang High School is not new, because the advantage of the school is high school students, most of whom are proficient in using IT. Besides, students already have computers, tablets or smartphones.
With the above advantages, this morning, April 6 - Huynh Thuc Khang High School officially started teaching the main curriculum with 3 periods/session. According to teacher Cao Thanh Bao - Principal of the school: The school has reduced the number of periods from 4.5 periods to 3 periods/session because currently, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued instructions on streamlining the program and the school only teaches the periods in the main program, the rest of the teachers will guide the students to study on their own.

In addition, the school has to reduce the number of lessons because online teaching is difficult to be proactive when it depends on the connection. In case the network is not favorable, the transition time must be longer and more time is needed for teachers to get familiar with the class...
On the first day of regular teaching, the school principal also observed 42/42 online classes and found that the learning was quite serious. However, the online teaching line according to the Department's instructions was interrupted at times, especially in the second period, affecting students' learning.
Cua Nam Secondary School also officially started online teaching today. Teacher Trinh Thi Hai also said: Due to online teaching, the timetable had to be adjusted to 3 periods/session and the school will study continuously from Monday to Friday. Currently, most of the students in the class have devices to study and the rest, parents are also trying to equip students to study.

The current difficulty is the connection because this morning many lessons were interrupted due to unstable connection. Teacher Trinh Thi Hai - Vice Principal of the school also said: Teaching online makes teachers have to work 3 times harder than usual because all lessons must be prepared according to electronic lesson plans. Especially for teachers of natural subjects, it is very difficult because they have to create many graphics. Meanwhile, managing students is not as convenient as in-person learning, especially supervising students doing homework.
For online teaching to be successful, the connection is the most important because not only students from one school or one province but the whole country can access the same system.
"Racing" with online teachingThis morning, at 8:00 a.m., Ms. Nguyen Hue (Le Mao ward) suddenly received a notice from the teacher about organizing online learning for her child and the learning time would start at 8:30 a.m.

Although she was at work, she was worried that her child would miss out on lessons, so she tried to access the school website following the homeroom teacher's instructions. However, despite her persistence for 2 hours, her answer after each visit was still "unable to access this website". Many other parents had similar answers.
Regarding online teaching, a teacher also surveyed the opinions of many parents through social networks and there were many concerns, especially with primary school students. Ms. Thanh Thuy (Ha Huy Tap ward) said: My first child is in grade 11 so he is quite proficient, but my second child (grade 7) is learning slowly, some can access the network, some can not.
Besides, the timetable changes constantly so the children cannot remember everything and there are many subjects that they have not learned yet. Not to mention, each time they enter, they have a different password and a different room, so it is very inconvenient and if parents are not proficient in information technology, it is very difficult to support their children.

Currently, opinions also say that online teaching at some levels, especially primary school, is having problems with the main reasons being the impact on children's vision (if they learn via phone or continuously learn on the computer), children are not proactive in using the device, teaching time is not suitable for parents' time to have support conditions), difficult to manage when the class is too crowded, limited interaction makes students easily bored, in many places parents do not have enough conditions to buy equipment...
Sharing more about this, teacher Bui Thi Doan Trang - Principal of Le Loi Primary School - Vinh city said: At present, changing the way of learning from direct teaching to online teaching requires teachers, students and parents to make efforts together.
However, with the conditions in our school and with the age of primary school students, we are currently only teaching experimentally in some review lessons. To teach in general with formal lessons requires many factors in terms of facilities, equipment, stable connection and the participation and support of families, and this is really difficult.
Regarding online teaching, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Head of Secondary Education Department - Department of Education and Training said: Currently, the Department of Education and Training has issued detailed guidance documents and schools need to carefully study the guidance documents to organize online teaching in accordance with content, duration, school conditions, and student family conditions. In addition, teaching must be substantial, effective, avoid overload and not put pressure on parents and students.
