Plan to develop 4 urban areas to build Dien Chau district (Nghe An) into a town by 2030
(Baonghean.vn) - Dien Chau district will develop 4 urban areas including: Phu Dien, Yen Ly, Dong Thai, Minh Chau, as the basis for implementing the dual goal of developing Dien Chau district to reach type IV urban area by 2025 and become Dien Chau town, type III urban area before 2030.
This is the content of the Construction Planning Project of Dien Chau district, Nghe An province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee.
According to the planning project, by 2025, Phu Dien urban area will be developed into a type IV urban area based on the boundary of Phu Dien urban planning adjustment; Yen Ly urban area will be built and upgraded on the basis of Dien Yen commune; Dong Thai urban area will be newly built on the basis of Dien Dong commune and Dien Thai commune as an industrial service urban area supporting the Dong-Thai industrial cluster; Minh Chau urban area will be newly built on the basis of Minh Chau commune as an industrial service urban area associated with the expansion area of the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone. The total population of the district by 2025 will be 340,000 people, the urban population will be about 127,500 people, the urbanization rate will reach about 37%.
By 2025, the rural areas of Dien Chau district will have the following communes: Dien Lam, Dien Doai, Dien Truong, Dien Hoang, Dien Hung, Dien My, Dien Phong, Dien Hai, Dien Kim, Dien Van, Dien Hong, Dien Thap, Dien Lien, Dien Xuan, Dien Hanh, Dien Nguyen, Dien Quang, Dien Cat, Dien Loi, Dien Tho, Dien Loc, Dien Thinh, Dien Phu, Dien An and Dien Trung with a total area of 231.03 km2.2, population about 212,500 people.
In the period from 2026 to 2030, Dien Chau town will be established, based on the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province. Forming the inner city (ward-level unit) including the entire administrative boundary of Dien Chau town and 23 communes with a total area of 145.39 km2.
The total urban population is about 360,000 people, the urban area population including conversion is about 236,000 people, the urbanization rate is about 65%.
The suburban area is the remaining rural area of 13 communes: Dien Lam, Dien Doai, Dien Truong, Dien Thap, Dien Lien, Dien Xuan, Dien Hanh, Dien Quang, Dien Nguyen, Dien Loi, Dien Phu, Dien An and Dien Trung with a total area of 168.51 km2.2, population about 123,900 people.
Period from 2031 - 2050: The total population of Dien Chau town is about 450,000 people, the urban population including conversion is about 315,000 people, the urbanization rate is about 70%; at the same time, build and develop residential areas according to the approved general planning for rural construction and model residential areas serving the construction of model rural areas. By 2050, the rural population will be about 135,000 people.
Dien Chau district currently has 37 commune-level administrative units including Dien Chau town and 36 communes: Dien An, Dien Bich, Dien Cat, Dien Doai, Dien Dong, Dien Hai, Dien Hanh, Dien Hoa, Dien Hoang, Dien Hong, Dien Hung, Dien Kim, Dien Ky, Dien Lam, Dien Lien, Dien Loc, Dien Loi, Dien My, Dien Ngoc, Dien Nguyen, Dien Phong, Dien Phu, Dien Phuc, Dien Quang, Dien Tan, Dien Thai, Dien Thanh, Dien Thap, Dien Thinh, Dien Tho, Dien Truong, Dien Trung, Dien Van, Dien Xuan, Dien Yen and Minh Chau.
