Merging Hoa Thanh Secondary School is in accordance with policy and regulations.

(Baonghean.vn)In early September, Nghe An Newspaper received feedback from a representative of a former teacher of Yen Thanh district about disagreeing with the policy of merging Hoa Thanh Secondary School, a school with a long history and achievements.

Along with publishing the comments in the newspaper, Nghe An Newspaper has forwarded the content to the Chairman of the District People's Committee and the Department of Education of Yen Thanh District for consideration and resolution. On October 24, Nghe An Newspaper received document No. 396/PGD from the Department of Education and Training of Yen Thanh District in response to this matter as follows:

Pursuant to the resolutions and decisions of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee on planning the network of kindergartens and general schools in the province until 2015 and Official Dispatch No. 2091/SGD of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training on planning the network of schools and developing a plan for developing education and training, which stipulates: each commune has a maximum of 1 secondary school, schools with less than 16 classes in urban areas, plains and less than 10 classes in mountainous areas must be merged into schools according to commune clusters.

To implement the above policy, Yen Thanh District People's Committee has developed a Project for Planning the school network from 2009 to 2015, with 26 secondary schools. During the implementation process, from 39 schools in 2009 to now, it has been reduced to 35 schools (merging 10 schools into 5 schools). By 2015, Yen Thanh will have 26 secondary schools. According to the roadmap, Phu Thanh secondary school will have to merge with Hong Thanh secondary school, Hop Thanh secondary school with Nhan Thanh secondary school, Hau Thanh secondary school with Hung Thanh secondary school, Thinh Thanh secondary school with Tay Thanh secondary school, Phan Dang Luu secondary school with Hoa Thanh secondary school and Van Thanh secondary school, Vinh Thanh secondary school with Vien Thanh secondary school.

Regarding Hoa Thanh Secondary School, in the 2011-2012 school year, there were 7 classes with 197 students, and the number of classes is expected to not increase in the following years. Thus, the merger of Hoa Thanh Secondary School is in accordance with policies and regulations, and is suitable for local conditions. The Department of Education and Training, together with relevant departments and Hoa Thanh Secondary School, will continue to promote and mobilize to do a good job of planning the school network, to improve the quality of education and effectively promote investment resources for education.

However, due to the lack of facilities for the school cluster, Hoa Thanh Secondary School and some other secondary schools have not merged yet and are currently operating normally in teaching and learning.
