Department of Health gives breeding cows to people in Yen Tinh commune, Tuong Duong district

On the morning of January 27, a working group from Nghe An Department of Health presented 50 Tet gifts and 15 cows to poor households in Yen Tinh commune. Each gift was worth 500,000 VND (in cash). The total estimated value was nearly 239 million VND.

In addition, the Department of Health also sent a team of doctors to Yen Tinh commune health station to examine, treat, provide health consultation and dispense free medicine to nearly 300 people... These are annual activities of the Department of Health for Yen Tinh people.

Since 2012, implementing the Provincial People's Committee's Decision on assigning agencies and units to help poor communes in the area, Nghe An Department of Health has helped Yen Tinh commune, Tuong Duong district (one of the most remote and poorest communes in the province).

To help the poor commune of Yen Tinh, from 2012 to now, Nghe An Department of Health has mobilized contributions from union members, units under the department, businesses and philanthropists inside and outside the province. The total amount mobilized is 1,221 billion VND, of which medical staff contributed 1,032 billion VND).

With this money, Nghe An Department of Health has organized practical activities to help poor communes such as: giving cows, giving savings books, building charity houses for poor households, giving books and bicycles to students, giving computers and desks and chairs to schools, giving medical examination and treatment equipment to health stations... In addition, the Department also organized many groups of doctors to examine and treat patients, and provide free medicine.

After 5 years with the support of the Department of Health, the socio-economic life of the people is gradually improving. In 2012, the poverty rate in Yen Tinh commune was 88.2%. Up to now, the poverty rate in the commune is 53.9%.

Currently, Nghe An Department of Health has launched the second campaign to contribute to help the people of poor Yen Tinh commune, each medical staff receives one day's salary. The funds to support poverty reduction are in many forms but focus on buying cows to develop the economy./.
