Exciting Hao Kiet Village Festival in Yen Thanh

(Baonghean.vn) - It has become a tradition that every February 11 and 12 of the lunar calendar, thousands of people in Vinh Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) and tourists eagerly participate in the Hao Kiet Village Festival.

Hao Kiet is an ancient village, with a history associated with the formation and development of Vinh Thanh commune, a land rich in patriotic and revolutionary traditions.

Hao Kiet village temple, in Dong Thanh hamlet, Vinh Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, was built in the 16th century and is the place to worship Thai uy Lai Trung Quoc cong (real name is Phan Cong Tich).

The festival opened with a traditional cross-country race, attracting a large number of farmers, teenagers, and male and female students to participate.

Due to the war, the festival was interrupted for a long time, and was not restored until after 2000. The festival takes place annually on March 19-20 (February 11-12 of the lunar calendar), to remind the descendants of the clans of the spirit of "remembering the source of water when drinking water", to unite the community spirit, to exchange experiences on beautiful lifestyles in daily life to help each other build increasingly progressive villages.

The Men's and Women's Volleyball Tournament attracted more than 10 teams from hamlets and units to participate, with exciting matches.

Coming to the Festival, visitors can also enjoy exciting cockfights.

Middle-aged and elderly people are excited about the card game competitions.

Festival Organizing Committee awarded prizes to outstanding athletes.

The festival takes place at the village temple, including two parts: the traditional ritual part includes the vigil and the official memorial service; the festival part has many exciting sports competitions and folk games.
