Nghe An: Sleeper bus overturned into field, 2 people died, 7 people injured

(Baonghean.vn) - A serious accident occurred on the Vinh City bypass (in Hung Thinh commune, Hung Nguyen district). A sleeper bus running from Thanh Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City overturned into a rice field, killing 2 people on the spot and taking 7 people to the emergency room.

The sleeper bus driver, Dao The Khoa (39 years old, residing in Quang Xuong, Thanh Hoa) is being detained for investigation.

The two deceased victims were identified as two biological sisters: Ngo Thi Thu (12 years old) and Ngo Thanh Dat (5 years old), both residing in Thieu Thanh commune, Thieu Hoa, Thanh Hoa.

Thu and Dat's father, Ngo Van Thuyen (40 years old), was seriously injured. Ngo Thi Binh (11 years old, Thuyen's daughter) was also injured.

Colonel Le Van Thai - Head of Hung Nguyen District Police added: "Immediately after the accident, we and the Traffic Safety Committee visited and encouraged the victim. We examined the scene, prevented traffic congestion, and brought the vehicle and related people to the police station to examine the cause and investigate. Currently, the police are temporarily detaining the driver to assist in the investigation."

As reported, at around 8:00 a.m. yesterday (June 27), on the Vinh City bypass (in Hung Thinh commune, Hung Nguyen district), an accident occurred. A passenger bus with license plate 36B - 005.67 driven by Dao The Khoa, traveling from North to South, suddenly lost control and overturned into a field on the side of the road. The overturn caused two deaths on the spot, many passengers were injured and panicked. Seven injured passengers were taken to hospitals for emergency treatment.

Passersby and many male passengers, along with the police, had to break the glass to get each injured passenger out to the emergency room and remove the bodies of the two victims, Thu and Dat, from the car.

This morning, June 28, Nghe An General Hospital 115 said that of the six patients brought to the emergency room, Mr. Ngo Van Thuyen, the most seriously injured, was transferred to Nghe An General Hospital for continued emergency care. One patient is still in the trauma department and the rest have been discharged from the hospital.
