Buddhist monks and nuns in Nghe An go to vote
(Baonghena.vn) - Along with people across the country, on the morning of May 22, Buddhist monks and nuns in Nghe An province enthusiastically went to vote for deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term.

Currently, in Nghe An province, there are 35 monks and nuns serving Buddhism, and over 45,000 Buddhists. With the motto "Connecting religion with life", the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province and the abbots of pagodas have actively propagated, mobilized, guided, and reminded followers to implement the contents of the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies at all levels for the 2011-2021 term.
Through the activities of the Executive Committee, most Buddhists in the province are excited and believe in the policies and guidelines of the Party and State; better understand the meaning of the election and the rights and obligations of each citizen on the national election day.

In this election of People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term, in the province, there are 3 dignitaries running for provincial and district People's Council delegates: Venerable Thich Nu Dieu Nhan, Deputy of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province, abbot of Can Linh pagoda running for provincial People's Council delegates, Venerable Thich Tue Minh, Venerable Thich Tue Quang (Chi Linh pagoda, Yen Thanh) and Venerable Thich Dong Tue (Ha pagoda, Nam Dan) running for district People's Council delegates.
The candidates for the provincial and district People's Councils for the 2016-2021 term are dignitaries with prestige among the masses and religious followers; have a high sense of responsibility and responsibility for their rights and obligations when participating in the election; therefore, the introduction of these candidates has created a high consensus between the government and the church and received the support of the masses and religious followers.
