Fishing boat with license plate NA 95702 TS 400 CV. There were 5 crew members on board, all 5 fell into the sea but were luckily picked up by a neighboring ship.
When the incident happened, Dien Bich commune mobilized 5 large capacity ships and dozens of people to rescue, but due to big waves and a lot of sand flooding the ship, it was impossible to pull the ship up.
The cause of the ship sinking was determined to be due to Lach Van being shallow and the ship encountering strong winds.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Lien - Vice Chairman of Dien Bich Commune People's Committee, the commune and people have to wait for the tide to go down and hire more excavators to be able to lift the boats. Mr. Nguyen Van Lien also said: Due to the serious silting of Lach Van, every year dozens of fishing boats of Dien Chau fishermen run aground here, causing tens of billions of dong in damage. In Dien Bich alone, in 2019, 6 boats were in trouble.
