Thai Hoa: Support 1 billion VND for agricultural development

(Baonghean.vn) - According to the investment policy for seedlings in Thai Hoa town in 2016,The town People's Committee spends 1 billion VND/year to support households raising dairy cows, growing Quang Tien pink grapefruit and growing oranges.

Dairy farming in Nghia Tien - Thai Hoa

These are the three main high-yielding crops in the town. Accordingly, dairy farmers are supported with 1 year of interest for 1 breeding cow purchased from a qualified farm (equivalent to 6 million VND/cow), 100 cows in 2016; supported with 10 million VND/ha for grapefruit cultivation with a total of 18 ha, supported with 11 million VND/ha for orange growers.

To date, Thai Hoa town has 270 milking cows in Nghia Tien, Nghia Hoa, Nghia My. Each cow gives 22 kg of milk/day; each year gives milk for 260 days, totaling about 5,720 kg of milk/year, with an average income of 80.1 million VND/cow/year.

82 hectares of Quang Tien pink grapefruit yield about 27 tons/ha, with a selling price of 25,000 VND/kg, generating an income of over 500 million VND/ha and 17 hectares of oranges, generating an income of over 300 million VND/ha.
