One day before students officially returned to school, on the morning of May 3, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh also inspected a number of schools in Vinh City. This is a special area with a large number of students, so ensuring student safety must be given more attention. At Le Mao Primary School, each classroom has a hand-washing faucet and is fully equipped with soap and hand sanitizer. Students' water cups will be numbered to ensure that students do not share them. Before the school day, many issues about social distancing have also been of concern to schools. In particular, social distancing will be implemented by grade level and students will only study one session/day and take extra classes on Saturdays. Photo: My Ha |

The plan to distance students in the classroom is also being implemented. At Le Mao Primary School, the current average number of students per class is 42 and tomorrow the school plans to draw lots to separate 4-5 students from each class to form a new class. However, this plan is still being considered because some parents do not agree because they are worried that it will affect the children's psychology. Photo: My Ha |

Le Loi Primary School has now rearranged all the desks and chairs and plans to implement social distancing in all grades. However, instead of drawing lots, the school plans to cut students in order and create a new class for each grade. Photo: My Ha |

Doi Cung Primary School currently has an average of 39 students per class. However, grades 2 and 4 have 2-3 more students. Because the difference in students is not too great, the school is continuing to consider the solution of separating students into classes because it could lead to disruptions in the organization of teaching and learning. At kindergartens, with their own characteristics, schools have also had plans to ensure safety. At Hung Phuc Kindergarten, students coming to school will have their temperature taken and wash their hands with sanitizer. Photo: My Ha |

For boarding students, to ensure social distancing while sleeping, their beds and benches will be rearranged. Photo: My Ha |

Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh also reminded schools to pay attention to organizing collective kitchens, especially those who provide food, and to have separate entrances so as not to affect students' learning. Photo: My Ha |
Regarding the issue of classroom distancing, Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training said: The Department has specific guidelines for distancing and for large classrooms, additional desks and chairs can be placed for students. Localities can also be proactive in the distancing process, but need to consider when implementing to avoid disrupting teaching and learning as well as the psychology of parents and students.
Previously, on April 27, the Department of Education and Training also issued a document guiding the implementation of teaching and learning when students return to school at the primary level. Accordingly, the education plan will simplify the teaching content as much as possible according to Official Dispatch 1125/BGDĐTGDTH dated March 31, 2020 of the Ministry of Education and Training. For Math and Vietnamese, based on the actual situation, primary education institutions will decide to simplify appropriately.
In addition, priority is given to teaching new lessons; review and practice lessons can guide students to self-study at home in many forms such as online, assignment via Zalo, Facebook, email, exercise sheets... Strive to complete the Education Program before June 30, 2020. The remaining time is until July 11, 2020 to review and systematize the knowledge learned from the beginning of the year; continue to implement unfinished content of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (if any).
