Vinh City is a central area with many conditions for development. However, the city's population work is facing many difficulties and challenges such as the crude birth rate, the third child birth rate and higher, and the gender imbalance at birth is still at a high level.

In particular, the gender imbalance is at an alarming level with a ratio of 122 males/100 females. Meanwhile, the ratio of the whole province is 116 males/100 females. In particular, there are wards with very high ratios such as Le Mao with 208 males/100 females, Dong Vinh with 150 males/100 females, Truong Thi with 148 males/100 females...

The city is also facing an increasing population size due to the increasing immigration rate, the population size between wards and communes is still different; the population density in some wards in the city center is still high, causing pressure on schools, health care and other social issues.
