9 more people infected with nCoV from abroad, bringing the total to 85 cases

4 people in Hanoi and 5 people in Ho Chi Minh City tested positive for nCoV on March 19, bringing the total number of patients to 85.

Of the recorded cases, seven were people returning from the UK, one from France and one via Istanbul. These people were all screened and/or quarantined immediately after entering the country.

Currently, Hanoi has the most patients, 24 people. Next is Ho Chi Minh City, 14 people; Binh Thuan 9 people.

"Patient 77", female, 25 years old, living in Nhan Chinh, Hanoi, studying in the UK, entered Noi Bai on March 17 on flight QR976. After entering the country, she was quarantined and tested, the results were positive for nCoV twice.

"Patient 78", male, 22 years old, living in Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi. This person is also an international student in the UK, entering Noi Bai on March 17 on flight EK394. The patient was immediately quarantined and tested, and on the evening of March 19, he tested positive for nCoV.

"Patient 79",female, 48 years old, and"patient 80", 18 years old, are a mother and daughter from Dong Hai, Bac Lieu. They have lived in the UK for nearly 2 years. On March 14, they both traveled from London to Dubai on Emirates flight EK4, seats 72J, 72K. Then, they took flight EK392, seats 33J, 33K to Ho Chi Minh City on March 15. The mother and daughter tested positive for nCoV on March 18 and were treated at Cu Chi Field Hospital.

"Patient 81", male, 20 years old, address in Konplong, Kon Tum. On March 14, he took flight AF258 from Paris, seat number 44L, arriving in Ho Chi Minh City on March 15. After entering the country, the sample tested positive for nCoV.

"Patient 82", female, 16 years old, address in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City. On March 14, the girl and her mother traveled from London to Dubai on flight EK30, seat number 12B. On March 15, she returned to Vietnam on flight EK364, seat number 7K. Upon entry, she had no symptoms of the disease, and her sample tested positive for nCoV.

"Patient 83", female, 50 years old, American citizen residing in Binh Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City. In the 14 days before entering the country, the patient went to Phuket, Thailand and from Istanbul, Türkiye boarded Turkish Airline flight number TK162, seat number 14K to Ho Chi Minh City on March 15. The sample tested at the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City was positive for nCoV.

Patients 81-83 are quarantined at the District 12 facility.

"Patient 84", male, 21 years old, address in Dong Da, Hanoi, studying abroad in the UK, entered Noi Bai on March 18 on flight VN54. The sample was concluded by CDC to be positive for the pathogen.

"Patient 85", male, 20 years old, address in Ba Dinh, Hanoi, studying abroad in the UK, entered Noi Bai on March 18 on flight VN54. The patient's screening result was positive for nCoV.

Patients 77, 78, 84 and 85 are isolated and treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Dong Anh facility, and are in stable health condition.

The total number of Covid-19 patients is currently 85, of which 16 cases have been cured since last month, one patient was declared cured on March 19, 68 patients are being isolated and treated. The cases mainly entered from Europe and the US, then spread to the community. 15 provinces and cities have reported patients, of which Hai Duong and Bac Ninh recorded for the first time.

Most patients are in stable condition, the two severe cases are both over 60 years old and have underlying diseases. Five patients have tested negative at least once.
