One more person in Ho Chi Minh City infected with Covid-19

A 31-year-old male patient in Ho Chi Minh City, who was in the same car with "patient 45" and had contact with "patient 34" in Binh Thuan, tested positive for Covid-19.

This man became 'patient 48' and was the second person in Ho Chi Minh City to be recorded with the disease in the past two days. The patient, residing in Ward 14, District 10, had contact with 'patient 34' in Binh Thuan on March 3, along with 'patient 45'.

On the morning of March 11, after the news that "patient 34" tested positive, he was instructed to self-isolate at home.

On March 13, the patient was transferred to centralized quarantine in District 10, tested, and showed no symptoms and was in stable health.

Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases took positive test samples on the evening of March 13. The samples were then transferred to the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City at 11 p.m. the same day.

This morning, the results showed positive for Covid-19 using realtime RT-PCR technique.

This is the 11th patient in the group related to the businesswoman from Binh Thuan - "patient 34". She left Vietnam via Incheon, South Korea, went to New York and Washington DC, and when returning via Qatar, entered Ho Chi Minh City and then returned to Binh Thuan. Those infected from this source include relatives and employees (F1), children of employees and in-laws (F2); and two young men in Ho Chi Minh City who had direct contact with her.
