Hoang Mai town proactively responds to super typhoon Yagi
To proactively respond to storms and rains, minimizing the damage and risks caused by super typhoon Yagi (typhoon No. 3), Hoang Mai town has proactively deployed response solutions. The town and local leaders have directly gone to the grassroots to direct the prevention and control work.

Accordingly, Hoang Mai town promptly issued dispatches on proactively implementing response work to super typhoon Yagi.
The town requested coastal communes and wards to closely monitor the storm's developments, continue to organize the counting of boats, and use all measures to call on owners of vehicles and captains of operating boats to move out of dangerous areas or to take shelter at anchor.
Organize strict management of vehicles and boats going out to sea; inspect and guide boats at anchorage. Proactively deploy measures to ensure safety for people, cages, aquaculture areas at sea, coastal areas, and tourists staying there.

For the plains and coastal areas, it is necessary to proactively deploy measures to ensure safety for sea dykes and river dykes, especially at vulnerable locations or those under construction; review and be ready to drain floodwaters to protect agricultural production, low-lying areas and industrial zones.
The town requires mountainous areas to be ready to deploy evacuation plans for people in areas at high risk of flash floods and landslides; prepare forces, vehicles, equipment, and necessities according to the "4 on-site" motto to proactively respond to all situations.

At the same time, direct the review and inspection of safety assurance work for mineral exploitation areas. Inspect, review, and proactively take measures to ensure safety of reservoirs and downstream areas, especially important irrigation reservoirs; arrange permanent forces to be ready to operate, regulate, and handle situations.
Relevant departments, agencies, sectors and units, according to their assigned functions and tasks, direct measures to be ready to respond when bad situations occur. Prepare forces and means for rescue when requested.

On the morning of September 6, the town established 3 working groups led by members of the Standing Committee of the Town Party Committee to inspect and direct preparations for storm No. 3.

The town promptly notified fishing vessels of all kinds to move to safe storm shelters; aquaculture facilities in the area have reinforced, secured, and tied ropes to ensure safety.
Hoang Mai town has a total of 1,069 fishing vessels. By 12:00 on September 6, the total number of vessels anchored at the port was 1,064, of which, anchored at ports within the province: 930 vessels/5,282 workers; Anchored at ports outside the province: 134 vessels/680 workers. Number of vessels operating at sea: 5 vessels with 20 people.
Of these, 2 vehicles with 12 people operating in the Gulf of Tonkin are on their way to storm shelters in other provinces. 3 vehicles/8 workers operating along the coast of Nghe An are on their way to storm shelters in the province.

In the town, there are 250 hectares of shrimp farming currently being stocked, the shrimp are still small (40 to 50 days old) and not yet ready for harvest; the town has 700 hectares of summer-autumn rice, 430 hectares have been harvested, currently 250 hectares have not been harvested.
Currently, Vuc Mau Lake has a water level of 15.25m; capacity of 21.83m3is ensuring safety.

Currently, communes and wards have organized meetings to deploy storm prevention and control measures for storm No. 3; fully prepared conditions according to the "4 on-site" motto. Localities in the town have also proactively cut down trees, inspected canal systems, irrigation works, the harvest of rice and storm-proof vegetables; inspected weak works and households at risk of flooding,... to avoid being passive and surprised when responding to storms.
