Village 2/9, Chau Khe - Con Cuong received the title of new rural standard

Hamlet 2-9 of Chau Khe commune, Con Cuong district has 140 households, which was originally a resettlement hamlet of people from Nam Dan district who came to live and do new economic activities since 1961. The first young people set foot on this land on the country's National Day, so they named it Hamlet 2-9.

From a desolate land, thanks to the hard-working and diligent hands, over the past 57 years, this land has become a prosperous village, with green fields and gardens, roads, electricity, schools... life is increasingly prosperous. In 2001, the village achieved the title of cultural village.

Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, the people of 2/9 village have focused on developing a comprehensive economy such as small-scale industry, civil carpentry, construction, transportation services, labor export, agricultural production, actively converting the structure of seasonal crops, intensive farming to increase productivity. In particular, afforestation and sugarcane have become the main crops of the village and Chau Khe commune in general.

Currently, the whole village has 54 hectares of fertile land, of which 27 hectares are sugarcane, with an average yield of 80 tons/hectare, net income of 30 - 40 million/year. The total income of the villagers is over 33.2 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate is only 9.2%.

Village roads and alleys are concreted, the environment is clean and beautiful, the village meets 15/15 criteria for building a new rural area. Neighborhood relationships are strengthened, social order and safety are ensured, cultural, artistic and sports movements are strongly developed.

With those achievements, village 2/9 was recognized by the People's Committee of Con Cuong district as a new rural standard village in 2018, bringing the total number of villages and hamlets in Con Cuong district to 7./.
