Seized 2,600 books and reference materials of unknown origin
(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh City Police discovered and seized more than 2,600 books of unknown origin and photocopied copies of instruction and reference materials at a photocopying facility in Hung Dung ward.

At about 9:55 a.m. on June 26, Vinh City Police coordinated with relevant units to inspect Mr. Hoang Van Thuan's house at No. 21, Alley 3, Lane A3, Dinh Le Street, Hung Dung Ward and discovered many textbooks, reference books, and photocopies of reference books and study guides.

Mr. Thuan admitted that all the books belonged to his daughter, Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Huong (born in 1983), residing in block 13, Ben Thuy ward, Vinh city. During the inspection, Ms. Huong was unable to present any relevant documents.

Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Huong confessed that since September 2018, she bought a photocopier, a paper cutter, and A4 paper and brought them to her father's house at the above address to photocopy textbooks and reference books to sell to consumers at the kiosk at 189 Nguyen Van Cu Street, Vinh City. In May 2019, Ms. Huong bought many new and old textbooks of all kinds and stored them at Mr. Hoang Van Thuan's house to serve the purchase and sale for the new school year.

Currently, the authorities have drawn up a record and temporarily seized related exhibits including more than 2,000 books of unknown origin and more than 600 photocopied copies of instruction and reference materials. At the same time, they have sealed 5 photocopiers and 1 paper cutter.
