Prime Minister begins official visit to New Zealand

At 2:00 p.m. today (March 12) local time, or 8:00 a.m. Vietnam time, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his wife led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to Auckland International Airport, beginning an official visit to New Zealand.

Welcoming the Prime Minister, his wife and the delegation at the airport, on the New Zealand side were Member of Parliament, Dr. Deborah Russel, New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Wendy Matthews, and leaders of the New Zealand Ministry of Internal Affairs. On the Vietnamese side were Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand Nguyen Viet Dung and officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in New Zealand.

According to the program, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will hold talks with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Andern and witness the signing of important cooperation documents. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will also have a bilateral meeting with Speaker of the New Zealand Parliament Travis Mallard.

This afternoon, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will meet with Auckland Mayor Phil Goff and the Vietnamese community in New Zealand.

During the visit, the Prime Minister is expected to attend the Vietnam-New Zealand Business Forum and receive leaders of several large New Zealand businesses.
