Organizing activities to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the birth of comrade Phung Chi Kien
(Baonghean.vn) - The Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee has just issued Plan No. 22-KH/TU on organizing activities to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Phung Chi Kien (May 18, 1901 - May 18, 2021).
The Provincial Party Standing Committee requested relevant departments, branches and localities to advise on organizing a provincial-level commemoration ceremony in Vinh city and an incense and flower offering ceremony at the Phung Chi Kien Memorial Site (in Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district, scheduled for May 6, 2021); coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Central Propaganda Department to organize a scientific seminar on Comrade Phung Chi Kien - a typical senior leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution; assign the Dien Chau District Party Standing Committee to develop a project to restore the memorial site and memorial house of Comrade Phung Chi Kien to submit to the Central Party Secretariat for consideration and decision.
At the same time, the Provincial Party Standing Committee requested Party committees, authorities, and socio-political organizations at all levels to organize propaganda activities about the life and revolutionary career of Comrade Phung Chi Kien to cadres, party members and people of all walks of life, especially the young generation, in many diverse and rich forms such as: Propaganda on mass media, electronic information pages, social networks, propaganda publications, documentaries, through activities of socio-political organizations, organizing traditional talks, mobile exhibitions with images, documents, etc.

Through these activities, to express gratitude for the merits and contributions of Comrade Phung Chi Kien - a staunch and exemplary Communist; a senior politician and military man of the Vietnamese revolution; to spread the noble revolutionary moral example of Comrade Phung Chi Kien, an exemplary cadre who was always conscious of maintaining solidarity and discipline within the Party, constantly cultivating his virtues, revolutionary nature, not yielding to the enemy, living heroically, dying gloriously, striving and sacrificing all his life for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the People; to contribute torevolutionary traditional education,create a vibrant competitive atmosphere, successfully implement the resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels, the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Comrade Phung Chi Kien (real name Nguyen Vi), was born on May 18, 1901 in Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province. He was a former member of the Central Party Standing Committee (term I), a loyal and exemplary communist soldier, wholeheartedly striving and sacrificing for the Vietnamese revolutionary cause; a politician and military man. On September 23, 1947, President Ho Chi Minh signed Decree No. 89/SL to posthumously confer the first general rank in the history of the Vietnam People's Army on Comrade Phung Chi Kien.
