Organizing the Buddha's Birthday Ceremony of Buddhist Era 2566 at Dai Tue Pagoda

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 2 (April 2 of the lunar calendar), Dai Tue Pagoda in Nam Anh Commune, Nam Dan District held a grand Buddha's birthday celebration for Buddhist calendar 2566. This is one of the pagodas that held the earliest Buddha's birthday celebration in Nghe An.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Religious Committee, leaders of Nam Dan, Tuong Duong, Nghi Loc districts; monks and nuns and a large number of Buddhists from near and far.

After the cultural program praising Buddha, the ceremony took place in a solemn and respectful atmosphere. Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac - Head of the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee, abbot of Dai Tue Pagoda read the message.Buddha's Birthday, Buddhist year 2566 of the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang.

The message clearly states: “This year's Buddha's birthday returns in a joyful atmosphere. After more than 2 years of the Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing must be implemented at different levels. Right now, the childrenBuddhafurther promote the tradition of protecting the country and people, accompanying the nation.

Each monk and nun needs to uphold their responsibilities and fulfill their duties in the spirit of: Discipline - Responsibility - Solidarity - Development, making constant efforts to make Buddhism clear, build a strong church, continue to play an important role in the great national unity bloc, and be active in the cause of building and defending the Vietnamese Fatherland.

Also at the ceremony, Venerable Thich Tri Khong - Head of the Education Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province read the Buddha's Birthday Speech 2566 by the Venerable President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, clearly stating the event of Buddha's birth and the development process of Buddhism in the world.

The speech affirmed: "Today, Vesak has become a religious festival for peace of the United Nations, a sacred festival of millions of believers around the world."

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Hien - Standing Deputy Secretary of Nam Dan District Party Committee affirmed the companionship of Vietnamese Buddhism for more than 2,000 years of building and defending the country; acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive contributions of Buddhism to the cause of innovation and development of the homeland.

Especially the contribution ofDai Tue Pagodawith many Buddhist activities "benefiting the country and the people"; at the same time, hoping that monks, nuns, and Buddhists will continue to preserve and promote the tradition of solidarity, protecting the country and the people, contributing to building the homeland of beloved President Ho Chi Minh to become more and more prosperous and beautiful.

At the end of the ceremony, delegates, monks and Buddhists performed the ritual of chanting sutras, bathing Buddha, praying for peace in the country, happiness for all people, and success of Buddhist activities./.
