Nghe An silk will be present in Japan to produce famous Kimono costumes?
(Baonghean.vn) - That is what can be expected when recently a large enterprise in Japan came to work with Do Luong district and mentioned cooperation in planting 100 hectares of mulberry to use as raw material for silk production of Kimono costumes.
The mulberry area in Do Luong district is currently up to 87 hectares planted in communes along Lam river such as: Thuan Son, Ngoc Son, Lam Son, Dang Son... The average income from mulberry growing is quite high, reaching an average of 120 million VND/ha of mulberry/year.

Recently (October 17), a good sign brought new hope to mulberry growers and silkworm farmers in Do Luong district, when a Japanese enterprise had a working session with district leaders about cooperation in implementing a project to develop mulberry growing and silkworm farming in the area.

The Japanese company said it would support initial investment, technical support for raising, training in knowledge and how to operate the production system to process fresh mulberry powder to make reserve food for silkworms and process nutritional foods. The delegation went on a field trip to areas planned for mulberry growing.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh - Vice Chairman of Do Luong District People's Committee added that the Japanese delegation visited Lam Son, Ngoc Son, and Dang Son communes, visited existing mulberry growing and silkworm raising models in communes along Lam River and took soil and water samples back to Japan for testing.
