Nghe An Provincial People's Court conducts mobile trials of two criminal cases on drugs and human trafficking
On June 21, in Chau Quang commune, Quy Hop district, Nghe An Provincial People's Court held a mobile trial of two first-instance criminal cases with five defendants on the crimes of "Illegal trading and possession of drugs" and "human trafficking".
One sentenced to death, another to life in prison for drugs
In the first case, the Court tried two defendants: Vu Van Dang (born in 1974), residing in Chau Son village, Chau Khe commune, Con Cuong district, for the crime of "Illegal trading of narcotics" and Luong Van Hung (born in 1979), residing in Khe Nan village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district, for the crimes of "Illegal trading of narcotics" and "Illegal possession of narcotics".
According to the indictment, around September 8, 2023, Vu Van Dang contacted a man named So Ly to order 4 bags of Methamphetamine for 100 million VND with the intention of selling for profit and agreed to pay 50 million VND in advance.

On September 14, 2023, So Ly called to inform the Party that there were drugs. The Party called Luong Van Hung to invite him to go receive the drugs, promising to give Hung some money to spend.
At 5 p.m. the same day, Dang drove a motorbike to pick Hung up and the two went to a mountainous area in Canh village, Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district. There, Dang gave Hung 50 million VND and instructed Hung to hide the money in a bush near a drainage culvert, someone would come and collect the money and leave behind the drugs.
After that, Dang drove his motorbike back to Muong Xen town, Ky Son district to wait.
Hung followed the Party's instructions. About 45 minutes later, someone came to get the money and left 2 packages of drugs, one package weighing 2,252.09 grams and the other weighing 15.36 grams.
Hung went to check, took a package of drugs weighing 15.36 grams and put it in his pocket to use, without telling the Party, then called the Party to come pick him up.
The Party returned to pick up Hung, took a package of drugs weighing 2,252.09 grams, put it in the backpack he was carrying, then got in the car driven by Hung and returned.
When he was about 200m from Hung's house, Hung stopped his car and hid the drugs he had put in his pocket earlier in the water tank behind the house.
Meanwhile, Dang continued to drive his motorbike on National Highway 7 carrying a backpack containing 2,252.09 grams of drugs to Chau Khe commune, Con Cuong district, when he was discovered and caught red-handed by the authorities.
Regarding the man named So Ly (Laotian) that Vu Van Dang claimed to have sold drugs to the Party, the Investigation Agency seized the telegram number 0582737229, and the result determined that the subscriber was Luong Thi Phom (born in 1989, residing in Noong De village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district).
However, Phom stated that he did not register and use the above phone number, and did not know anyone named Vu Van Dang and So Ly.
Vu Van Dang also stated that he did not know So Ly's specific background and did not know Luong Thi Phom, so the Investigation Agency had no basis to verify.
The jury sentenced defendant Vu Van Dang to death for “Illegal drug trafficking”; Luong Van Hung to life in prison for “Illegal drug trafficking” and 7 years in prison for “Illegal drug possession”, forcing defendant Luong Van Hung to serve a combined sentence of life in prison for both crimes.
Using the trick of inviting women to China to "work" to trick them into selling them
In the second case, the Court tried 3 defendants including Moong Thi Ha (born in 1991), Ven Hai Yen (born in 1994), both residing in Cha Lan village, Huu Lap commune, and Hooc Thi Nan (born in 1992), residing in Ta Do village, Muong Tip commune, Ky Son district, for the crime of "Human trafficking".
According to the indictment: In March 2018, Moong Thi Ha invited Chich Thi H. (born 2000), residing in Cha Lan village, Huu Lap commune, Ky Son district, to go to China to find a job with a high salary.
After Chich Thi H. agreed, Mong Thi Ha discussed and took Ms. H. to China and handed her over to an acquaintance living in the same commune as her, Ven Hai Yen.
The purpose was for Yen to sell Ms. H. to get money to spend. Yen, through Hoc Thi Nan and Nan's Chinese mother-in-law (unknown background, specific address), sold Ms. H. to a Chinese man for 100,000 NDT (equivalent to 210 million VND).
