Vinh City: Rectify the chaotic situation at the flower selling point on Le Mao Street

After many suggestions and contributions,Vinh cityhas allowed flower vendors to operate at two locations, including the sidewalk of Le Mao Street and the art flower garden of Ho Tung Mau Street since November 15. However, in reality, after nearly a week of operation, the flower vendors still affect traffic safety and urban beauty.

According to the reporter's records, although they are allowed to operate in 2 areas, in reality, flower stalls only display and do business on Le Mao Street. Meanwhile, the art flower garden area on Ho Tung Mau Street, which has a large space and wide road, has no or few flower carts operating, making Le Mao Street cramped and at times unsafe for traffic.

For example, last weekend, Le Mao Street was bustling with visitors taking pictures, with an estimated number of hundreds of people per day. However, along with the bustling situation, people were carelessly parking their cars in long rows on the street, and photographers and models flooded Le Mao Street to check-in.

After Nghe An Newspaper reported on this situation, Le Mao ward authorities assigned patrol forces to handle the chaos at flower stalls on Le Mao street.

Mr. Tran Xuan Hai - Vice Chairman of Le Mao Ward People's Committee said: After Nghe An Newspaper reported, on the afternoon of November 21, the ward's urban order force took action to rectify the business and display of flowers on Le Mao Street. Flower businesses are required to strictly follow the regulations, including arranging flower carts neatly on the sidewalk, not displaying flowers in a messy manner, and being responsible for reminding photographers not to spill onto the street. Photographers are only allowed to work on the sidewalk.

"Because this is a new model being implemented in the city, it is difficult to avoid shortcomings in the beginning. In fact, the locality has only issued a fine of 350,000 VND to one flower business household on the first day. In the following days, they mainly reminded, not yet imposed administrative penalties to create conditions for businesses and people to have fun. However, if in the future flower sellers and people do not comply with traffic safety regulations and deliberately re-offend, the locality will strictly punish according to regulations" - Mr. Tran Xuan Hai emphasized.

Through discussion, Vinh City leaders said: In the early days of operation, although it has created a new feature for the city, the chaotic situation at the flower selling point on Le Mao Street is still quite common. Therefore, for now, the city assigns responsibility to Le Mao Ward to manage and promptly rectify. If it is not feasible, the city will temporarily suspend the business and display of flowers on Le Mao Street.
